Is the name dead cat a tribute to that dude with the dead cat drone?

I use a deadcat for my freestyle and it works perfectly fine

Squashed X for the win! Even works with a GoPro without props in view.

summary: x frames can have good stability, which is why they are used in freestyle/racing, but cannot fit a camera without having props visible. The dead-cat pushes the components forwards, making props invisible. It drifts a little during rolls but is good/used for cinematic shots.

Him: x frame or deadcat frame?
Me: both because its my first time hearing those words

You can still center the C.G. at the diagonal intersection of the propellers with the dead-cat frame...

How do you compensate for stability without a gimbal? Do you buy the frame seperate to the actual camera? Or is there a drone that has both? 🙏

I always saw your photography shorts and now You're an FPV pilot apparently
As a guy who is into FPV as well (although I'm broke), sick piloting

Legitimate question, can these be built with GPS capabilities, like a DJI drone, with the same capabilities of a race/freestyle drone?
Say maybe a switch to switch off the GPS positioning, and/or a mixture to mix the capabilities?

Love your vids man. But I wouldn’t say X frame always equals “perfectly centered weight distribution.” The components in the rear can easily outweigh the front ones. Especially if you mount a Vista unit and gps in the rear. But it’s nothing the gyro can’t handle. I personally prefer squashed X. Love the way they fly.

Hi guys, do you know what type of go pro thing he uses in the blue case on the x frame?

I don't think weight distribution has as much to do with the construction of the frame, as the actual weight distribution - how do you balance your drone.

I have DC frame and squashed X and i dont like them. I prefer the X frame. My Nazgul5 frame i have is a true X frame and barely has any props in view. Some are worse than others.
Running clear or smoke clear props makes the props a lot less noticeable if that stuff bothers you.
I get that some people want to use the O3 for filming, but if the Drone is big enough. Most times youll have a GoPro or DJI Action Cam on there as well..

I peed a little bit on the first dead cat footage falling into the cliff. 😮

Couldn’t you extend the electronics body of the x frame to go part the propeller to get the best of both?
