last one 100% worked for me. I looked at so many other videos for my MacBook Air and this is a new laptop and I don't play a whole lot of sounds and my right speaker has sounded crackling and fuzzy but doing the master slide thing and then restarting it fixed it wtf thank you!!!!

Just so everyone knows, I don't think there is a fix yet but rebooting the computer fixes it because it resets the SMC. So for now that works and is all you have to do if you don't mind restarting.

Core Audio + MIDI Sound solution fixed crackling in my MBP 14" M1 Max w/ 32 RAM and 24 video cores, it seemed hardware but was software.

honestly I have an m1 MacBook Pro and simply resetting fixed the crackling sound. I had never exppiernced it before. the laptop worked perfectly jus hours before.

Hello! I have tried refresh core audio but there was no such thing listed on cpu tab of activity monitor and think this can be a problem... do you have any ideas to activate core audio?

Hi sir I am facing issue in my Mac book air m1 which I purchased "one week ago" as my left speaker is doing crackling noise while playing mid range clear music and not in low or high and I tried all your steps it still not working how to complain at apple as it does not come in all music but in some music and some sound test videos on YouTube it come and only on volume greater than 4 or 5.
