ac blowing hot air ?

step 1. change inside filter at the furnace

step 2. clean off outside unit coils , from the inside out, don't get the fan motor wet, also don't damage the flaps on the coils . They are easy to damage .

step 3. take panel off to get to capacitor, make sure outside fuse to the AC unit is unplugged!

step 4. before touching the capacitor, MAKE SURE YOU DONT GET ZAPPED! to do this take a rubber handle screwdriver and touch it against 2 of the nodes at the same time, just try touching them all to one another, if you don't know which ones .

step 5. take pictures of the capacitor, make sure the numbers match up , the important ones are these ( examples : 45+5 uF or 40+5 uF etc , the +-6% or +-5% etc, the 370v or 440 vac etc, lastly find out if it's a dual or single capacitor, dual is for turning on the compressor and the fan. )

step 6. order off Amazon or favorite parts store the exact specs part . they usually run $14 to $25.

step 7. using your picture you took, match up which wires go where , take off the capacitor harness and hook up the new one . pop the outside fuse back in and turn on the ac inside! it should take only a few minutes to start feeling warm air blowing out the top of the outside fan and feeling cool air blowing inside through the vents ! 😁 message me for any questions ! Freon systems do not push cold inside in fact your system moves hot liquid inside and the evaporation of this liquid pulls the heat out of the air inside and moves it as a cold gas back outside.

Thanks for not telling anyone how to discharge the capacitor first before replacing it, you killed my neighbor.

Make sure warm is coming out, not a blown capacitor, capacitors are for starting the unit, not running it.

My outside condenser unit is blowing hot air and one liquid line and suction line feel proper temp. Inside the thermostat on cool blows warm/ hot air and dont understand why if just yesterday it was working fine. Could this still be a capacitor?

Best way to check the capacitor is to make sure all prongs are leveled on your hand .. if they feel straight it’s still good .

You should diagnose the capacitor. Don't just through parts at a problem

If the capacitor is blown, the fan would not be operating. Also, before dealing with a capacitor, turn the systems' power off first.

If the fan is running chances are the capacitor is not the problem

Do not follow this person's advice etc. Especially regarding a charged capacitor. It could be potentially lethal.

People. You can electrocute yourself changing this part. He left that part out.

Very dangerous playing around with AC capacitors. Make sure you discharge them before handling them. Better yet, hire someone who knows what they are doing so that you do not electrocute yourself.
