This thrift haul is full of amazing 35mm film cameras like the Canon ae-1, Canon FT, Olympus om1, fujifilm, and point and shoot film cameras like the Minolta! The Olympus OM-1 are a great Camera, BUT the fast shutter times 1/250 1/500 and 1/1000 can be a little too slow, so you get light overexposed images. Get a OM-2 or OM-2 Spot.

That's a great haul! Hope you can get that Om-1 working, I use one a LOT and it is an amazing camera and has some lovely lenses for it.

My dad gave me a fujica 801 a few years ago it was never used really. I still haven’t put a roll through it yet but definitely need to!

First, the Canon TL DOES take a battery. Its cover was on the top side when you tried to open the back cover. And PLEASE: the word 'manual' you misconstrue. As applies to SLRs and other cameras, 'manual' means ONLY that one can set one's shutter speed and aperture. This attribute can apply BOTH to cameras with clockwork shutters (FT) and with electronic shutters (AE-1). When you are referring to a shutter mechanism which is clockwork (i.e. springs) please refer to it as having a MECHANICAL shutter.
