Day - 93:

Chapter 04 – śloka 37:
यथैधांसि समिद्धोऽग्निर्भस्मसात्कुरुतेऽर्जुन |
ज्ञानाग्नि: सर्वकर्माणि भस्मसात्कुरुते तथा || 37||

yathaidhānsi samiddho ’gnir bhasma-sāt kurute ’rjuna
jñānāgniḥ sarva-karmāṇi bhasma-sāt kurute tathā

Word by Word Meaning:
yathā – just as;
edhāṁsi – firewood;
samiddhaḥ – blazing;
agniḥ – fire;
bhasma-sāt – to ashes;
kurute – does;
arjuna – Arjuna;
jñāna-agniḥ – the fire of wisdom;
sarva – all;
karmāṇi – actions and its reactions;
bhasma-sāt – to ashes;
kurute – does;
tathā – in the same way;

Chapter 04 – śloka 38:
न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते |
तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्ध: कालेनात्मनि विन्दति || 38||

na hi jñānena sadṛiśhaṁ pavitramiha vidyate
tatsvayaṁ yogasansiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati

Word by Word Meaning:
na – nothing;
hi – certainly;
jñānena – with knowledge;
sadṛśam – comparable to;
pavitram – purifying;
iha – in this world;
vidyate – exists;
tat – that;
svayam – oneself;
yoga-saṁsiddhaḥ – one who is perfected by yoga;
kālena – in due course of time;
ātmani – within oneself;
vindati – attains;

Explanation Ch 04 – śloka 37-38:
When he realises the eternal soul’s relationship with God, man surrenders to God; he is thus purified and released from material bondage. Further, the fire of knowledge in him burns away the effects of the karmas he has accumulated over lifetimes. In this state of unblemished purity, man becomes elevated, liberated and realises his divinity.

Meaning Ch 04 – śloka 37-38:
Just as the blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, in the same way, the fire of wisdom, burns all actions and their reactions to ashes.

In this world, there is certainly nothing as purifying as knowledge [of the Self]. One who is perfected by yoga attains that oneself within oneself, in due course of time.
