I don't think the macro mode is gimmicky, I work with small animals and i love taking close up macro photos of them. I have a collection of baby lizard macro photos.

Generally speaking, the Pixel 8 Pro's still photos are so good, the overall color and tone look pretty natural, I really like it.

Audio eraser is just "Fine"?!?!?! Becca be real that is genuinely impressive and extremely useful especially if you're not a video editor.

i feel the audio eraser requires more appreciation than just. "fine" :) i'm sure there would be a same video calling it ground breaking when apple does this in 7 years :-)

Macro Photography is unique in its own way. Don't see it as gimmicky. A great tool to have when you want to explore a unique form of Photography.

Standard iPhone photos have yellow and green hue over them. It's a well known fact. Front facing cameras cannot get the skin color right.
I'm just confused how someone so experienced says that Pixel is struggling with color accuracy while iPhone isn't.

I'm surprised Becca didn't mention the fact that it now has Ultra HDR as well as P3 color! But you have to be viewing the photos on the Pixel 8 Pro itself, a lot of other devices and apps won't show either

As a photographer these are the tools you want. In my opinion you are wrong when you say iPhone 15 has better colour management? There are lots of professional reviews out there thats say otherwise. Take for example dxo mark.

Hi you can lock the colour balance by holding the colour slider - you can also lock your exposure and af.

For low light video performance, google has been toning down the amount of temporal noise reduction because it leads to motion artifacts in low light where a higher ISO is used.

Watching this video from Pixel 8 Pro that I picked up today. I upgraded from Pixel 4a 5G and was worried about the size of the 8 Pro. But so far so good. Yes it is a big phone, however it sits pretty well in my hand. There is, of course, so much to test in this phone, it will take me few days to just have a proper impressions.

These are always fun. I find the Pixel really consistent at color, most specifically, white balance, it seems very predictable in fact sometimes too accurate, when you have an rgb light as a primary it balances it so much that it basically cancels the color cast, I kinda hated that but now with manual controls that won't be a problem 😉

I think the big thing about 8 pro personally is all about that locally processed AI with tensor g3. A lot of downloaded AI tool apps are all processed on the cloud.
