Wearing masks when you have cold symptoms should always be a thing everywhere. Just the past week two students in my lab class came with cold symptoms and said don’t worry it is not COVID. I still don’t want any other cold too!

I remember literally right before the pandemic I learned that a lot of East Asian countries wore masks to avoid pollutants, weather, sickness, etc, and I was like “man I wish WE could wear masks and have it be societally acceptable” … I got my wish, but at what cost lmao 😭

Wearing masks when having a cold should be done by everyone in public spaces but especially when travelling on planes and trains and busses etc and other places where you are near other people.
But it's also smart to put a mask on when travelling just to not catch a cold.

As a Korean in USA, I am so glad that wearing a mask became more normal in this country since Covid because I was used to hear front my coworkers that how weird I was for wearing a mask in the office when I got sick…. Nowadays, people actually seem to appreciate me for wearing a mask when I cough in public 😅

When it comes to the dating culture and texting in Korea just hearing about it for me it seems a bit overwhelming because I saw another video that said that Koreans text each other basically non stop when dating but if you don’t respond or text that often the other person will think you want to break off the relationship or you just don’t want to be with them anymore. And for me it’s a bit too much like I will text you when I feel like it or when I need to but constantly texting nonstop is too much like it seems a bit clingy and I need my space.

If you lived or worked near nyc Chinatown when it was Sars outbreak, many Asian people wore masks.

Wearing a mask does not stop others from getting sick. It’s a nice idea, but the participles are too small to be stopped by a mask.
Second it is one’s terrain (body) that determines their health. If one is worried about getting sick, they should take better care of themselves.
If a mask helps you “feel” better I guess that’s fine, but don’t act like it’s for everyone else. It’s for yourself.
