These are the 10 things you need to know before you buy a weight bench. Whether it's a flat bench, adjustable, FID, budget, or commercial quality weight bench doesn't matter, this is what matters.

I've built up quite the collection of benches as I test and review them and after owning a dozen at once (I admit it's gone too far, next week we'll start giving some away!) I decided to make this video in hopes of helping you find the perfect bench for you!

Here's the playlist to our various bench reviews

Just a note, buying more benches does not correlate to having a better bench press... or so a friend tells me.

With all due respect to Coop of Garage Gym Reviews, you guys are my favorite home gym review channel. Great sense of humor and awesome content and the secret weapon of Wynie. I don't know if you have touched upon it in your other videos but may I ask how long have you 2 awesome folks been lifting/training? Keep up the great work 👍

That was great. The part at the beginning with Wynie posing on the benches was priceless. Great job!

When I was building out, I ~almost~ bought the Flybird, but got the Rogue foldable/hanging flat bench instead, . Now that I see the Flybird in person (via your video), I'm glad I went that route. I can get a slight incline/decline by not extending one of the legs. It's lower than normal, but it works well enough for my training goals.

New drinking game, take a sip every time you say “bench.”

I have the ironmaster and the rogue 2.0, they are both great benches. The ironmaster is perfect for a NYC gym that has to fit into a closet, combine it with squat stands and the pull up attachment and you have almost a complete gym.

As someone living on the opposite side of the planet, where 99% of the stuff you are reviewing are more or less unavailable, I have to say that I really enjoy your content.
That being said, some of the stuff I actually can find locally, is the Gungnir barbell I noticed you have on your wall. Any plans on reviewing this one in the near future?

I buy made in the USA as much as possible. That said, I’ve had/sold a few Rogue benches. Right now I have REP Fitness’s AB-5200 and FB-5000, both with the wide pad. IMMFHO REP has the bench market cornered. Great construction, materials and options. Keep up the great videos!!

Excellent rundown on what to consider when picking a bench! One thing often people overlook if they have the space and budget is to have more than one to keep stations: DBs outside the rack, flat bench inside, leg work on another. The set-up and strip down of some exercises if often a deterrence to adding unique exercises to your program for some people IMO.

When I grow up I want to be just like you and buy ALL the benches! Haha

Sizes are often ignored but very important to check before buying.
Width, can't be too narrow or too wide.
Length of the back support, can't be too short so your head can rest.
Clearance underneath, so you can do row and other exercises.

Love it! I wonder why the AB3000 is always left behind in the bench convo. Just recently got mine and I’m loving but I definitely still use my flat bench 90% of the time.

I’ve got Rep’s AB 3100 and absolutely love it. For the price I don’t think you’ll find anything better. But, if I could go back I’d just buy a FB 5000 because in my first year with it I’ve never used the incline setting but maybe one day I’ll use the incline setting though 🤷🏿‍♂️
