I started using Linux near the end of 2015, largely because it was something I had never experienced before, and I've always liked trying out new things.

Fast-forward to a couple days ago, and I don't even have Windows on my computer anymore. Linux made me realize how much I dislike Windows. Admittedly, I'm giving up on a good chunk of Windows-only games, but having control over what I have on *my* computer is much more important to me. Besides, there *are* a good number of games available for Linux, anyway. Many more if you use Wine and emulators.

...Plus, Linux is just more fun to use.

I'm running Ubuntu on a Vista era laptop that I use to record my audio in my recording studio... ie closet. The only thing I've changed about the laptop is to swap the HD for an SSD. Works great. I also use it for retro gaming via RetroPie x86. Linux definitely can give a computer new life. I even use Linux on my desktop with KDenlive for my videos.That's running on Manjaro jut to get updates faster than Ubuntu.

wIndows ticked me off for the last time, I just installed Linux Mint 18.1 Serena on my 2nd PC. it's the best linux's I have tried.
They refused to activate win7 and win 8 because I had used it before ( re-install)

These types of videos are very helpful for trying to ease the fear people have of something different.
In my experience, even users going between different versions of Windows installs is jarring to the point where they'd rather stick with an unsupported version than move up. Granted Windows has a terrible record of every other version of windows sucking terrible (ME, Vista, 8/8.1). Good Video!

Who is waching this on Linux? :D I am using it since like 2013 cuz its way faster than Windows. i had a PC that had Windows 7 on and it was later loading 1 thing like 5minutes, when I got Linux everything loaded instantly :)

You don't have to convince me. Once ya go Linux ya don't wanna go back. I think most people are afraid of Linux because it's open source and free, they think it's not safe. There's a false security in paying for an OS from Microsoft and getting a warranty. Once people get over their fears and learn what it's about they realize it really is superior. It's really hard to convince appleheads and Microsoft people though.

Excellent video! I've been using Linux (Ubuntu) about 2 years now. Put it on my father's machine and his girlfriend's too. (both in their 80's) and they love it. ...and it works and the drivers are there. It's just too easy and I love it. I could never go back to Windows (and to all those gamers out there....there are a LOT of games for Linux too.) :)

I've been using Window for 9 years 3 in XP and 6 in Windows 7 and in January 2020 I Switched to Linux Mint and glad that I made a change cause I can do all the things and have all the stuff I don't have before in Windows. I'm happy that I Switched to Linux.

I tried to make it work, it broke after updating 'important' updates, and just gave me a command line and no possible way of yknow booting back to the GUI

I have started to move to Linux. I have an old Atom laptop running Peppermint and a big old Dell laptop running Arch with Compiz. Both are running great! Pro tip: turn on hardware acceleration in your web browser!
