Just a suggestion: 1. Use more revs for mud. 2. Use more revs for sand. For both of these use the high revs in a lower gear, not low revs in a higher gear. Same for long hills. Adv. riding encounters steeper hills than graded asphalt roads. Even in the higher end of 1st and 2nd, if the hill is long enough you can over heat an engine and you don't want to hasten that. Low gear/upper rev range and momentum is your friend. (The clutch burning up at half the distance you expected and the over heating problems are from that habit of lugging the engine, not from the steep sections of the trails). 3. Ride the track that's away from the edge of cliffs. (Notice how even on that 8 foot wide, flat dirt trail a golf ball size rock tucked the front tire and dumped you) Baseball size and larger rocks can boot you 6 in. to a foot and a half to either side, not something you want to take place close to an edge. Please, take even a short weekend Adventure Riding course from an experienced instructor. Trails are where you learn your bike and techniques by experience after you have the fundamentals down. Where you're going, often taking you away from civilization, is not the place you want to be working out the fundamentals. 4. If your engine ever quits and it's not immediately obvious why, Check: Fuel, Spark, and then Air. You've learned a lot in a short time and your spirit of adventure, videoing, and editing are inspiring as well as enjoyable to watch.

No harm in asking a passing motorist for an extra bottle of water. I tend to carry extra water in my 4x4 for this same reason. Some people are more than happy to be of assistance. Cheers 🍻

It's a good idea to wear a long sleeve shirt instead of short sleeve shirt. Not for crash protection but since he's out there and getting low on water, a long sleeve shirt will keep the sun off his skin, helping his body not lose water as quickly.
And it will also feel cooler while riding because you're literally getting shade with the breeze from riding.

I’ve been following along since you left home and I’m really enjoying your exploits. I have to say that your video of the White Rim Trail is the best so far. Absolutely stunning!

Hey Eric! I've just watched your previous vlog of Utah's ancient petroglyph. So I just wanted to say when you come to India You will absolutely love exploring the ancient petroglyphs in Bhimbetka, Madhya Pradesh, India – some of them date back over 10, 000 years! It’s a fascinating spot for history and culture lovers. Would be awesome to see your take on it in one of your videos!

You sure are making wonderful memories that you're sharing with us, and you haven't even left your own contenant.

Arid landscapes are my favorite. I was stationed at Twentynine Palms MCAGCC and fell in love with the Mojave Desert. The wildlife and plants are so beautiful, amazing to see life thrive in extreme conditions.
Fun fact, Raptor Ranch (formerly Bedrock City) in Arizona is a Flintstones inspired camp ground.
Great ride, you did super good! Tough trails with stunning scenery!
Safe travels!

Potash road is beautiful, but the left turn up Schaefer canyon would get you to pavement a lot quicker, plus you have incredible views at the top-really magnificent. No wrong choice though. Your light bike is definitely the way to go!

Don't tell anybody, but I clicked on your video before clicking on Itchy Boots latest. Thanks!

I've ridden White Rim twice. Eight years ago on a DR650, three years ago on a CB500X.
This is a serious road that is not to be taken lightly. Great fun and wicked beautiful.
Full tank of gas, more water than you think you'll need, do it in the clockwise direction- down Shaffer up Mineral.

Yeah be careful taking odd roads in the desert. I lived in NM for a while and it was a bit scary getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere without being prepared. However, you did get to enjoy some rare sights. It is a beautiful and enthralling experience.

Just wanna say I don’t mean to he patronizing or question your experience.

Dude..all those vehicles! Any one of them would have happily shared water with you...just like you would share with them!

Jazz in the desert. Good choice, Eric.

It's crazy to think about how much water it took to carve out a canyon like that. The depth and velocity is hard to wrap your brain around. To see it in person must be amazing.

That looks like a fantastic trail. I love how time ultimately does not matter

I love Utah. Awesome place. You were so close to the Grand Canyon. Surprised you didn't venture down there.

Good job, in the sand you’re correct be loose and more rear on the bike use your knees in on the tank to sort of drive the bike. My buddy and I did this in a much shorter time but we’re both pretty off-road centered in riding it. We did it last year in April.

Anyone thinking of doing this bring lots of water, in the desert you will use way more water than you would think.
