Why The World Is Running Out Of Water

Fresh water has become the most important asset in the world today, and our planet is running out. Many people believe the next world war will be over water due to increasing shortages and a disappearing supply. Today, we see many countries clashing with each other over the delicate handling of humanities most important resource. As more problems arise, so will geopolitical tensions, but how will we handle it?

Something I forgot to talk about and is totally my bad, is the usage of fresh water in regard to businesses rather than the geopolitics of it. In regards to the US, many experts say living in the Southwest, particularly states like Arizona, Nevada, California, and New Mexico is an irresponsible thing to do and “was not meant for sprawling cities”. This is the same for dry countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East without renewable fresh water resources too obviously. Also, golf courses and front/backyards in these places that use water intensive plants/grass like Kentucky Bluegrass has also been seen as a bad move, due to how much water it requires. Currently, 70% of fresh water withdrawals are used for agriculture, 20% for industrial purposes, and 10% for municipal(human) purposes such as drinking water, showering, washing our hands, etc. What we need is innovation in the Agricultural industry, which many scientists are currently trying to work on!
As for why we can't boil the sea water for fresh water: We can, it's just very expensive, takes a ton of energy, and is horrible for the environment. There's a reason very few desalination plants still exist, it's just not a good method.

Again, sorry for forgetting to add this in, I tend to focus on the geopolitical side, while for these types of topics I should probably focus on the entire picture, but now I know!

One word: (Desalination) before you tell me it’s expensive, damaging to the environment or even not a good means of helping areas in land any nation or client with the capital to undertake the construction of these projects has a potential gold mine

Can't you just boil the salt water, collect the vapors and let it condense into a liquid again without the salt? Rain water is fresh, again, just have to boil it first.

China has already started the South-North Water Transfer Project which channels fresh water from Southern China (where there's lots of rainfall) to the drier Northern China, which means Beijing will always have fresh water

Have you ever heard of Israel or more specifically have you ever heard of how Israel fixed its water problem. Israel had only one source of water the Kineret. Now Israel uses most of its water from the sea using about 4 plants to desalinate the sea water. Israel also recycles waste water and turns it to drinkable water, but it doesn’t use it for that propose but it does use it for agriculture (just to be safe). Israel is also selling the technology to countries like Cyprus. Israel generates 20% more water than what they need which means water doesn’t effect us (Israelis) anymore, and we can use this water freely without any problem, and it’s also very cheap compared to other countries.

I live in Cabo, Mexico and there is 18 golf camps, and throughout all the year we have water only 1 or 2 days so we fill up our tinacos or cisterns and then we have to wait between 3 to 6 weeks to have water again, sometimes we run out of water and have to buy it from "piped trucks" (I don't know how to say it in English).

Sounds like a great opportunity for making some money. Especially in an inelastic market. Unlike drugs you cannot go without water.

Also some very interesting Geopolitical developments.

“Global warming” 😂

I’d very much like the earth to warm up a degree or two: increased biodiversity, longer human life spans, better crop yields, increased area suitable for wildlife, increased spread of plant life, and the list goes on and on…
