Показать описание
In this video, I'm diving into all of the top things you'll need to know about snowboarding gear as a beginner snowboarder! Should you rent your snowboarding gear or buy your snowboard gear? What gear should you buy first? When do you get cheap snowboarding gear? Where's the best place to find inexpensive snowboarding gear?
When I went snowboarding for the first time a few years ago, it was my first time going to a ski resort in the winter. I knew nothing about snowboarding and didn't know the first thing about gear. So, this video deep dives into all the things I wish I had known when I was starting out as a newbie snowboarder.

SHOULD YOU RENT OR BUY YOUR SNOWBOARDING EQUIPMENT?
If you've never been snowboarding before, I highly recommend you RENT as much gear as you possibly can. You don't even know if you like snowboarding yet. I recommend you rent your gear for at least the first time you go, and then see how you like it! Renting your gear will also give you time to test out different types of snowboards and snowboard boots to determine what you like and don't like. This will enable you to be that much more prepared to know what type of snowboard and boots you'd like to buy when you are ready to purchase your gear.
If the budget is not a concern, you can definitely purchase all of your gear right out of the gates. Keep in mind, if later down the road, you decide you don't like snowboarding, you could always sell your gear. I don't recommend this for most people because A- Most people don't have an unlimited budget and B- Most people wouldn't want to bother with the hassle of selling gear if they've only gone once or twice.

Once you've established you like snowboarding, this is the order I recommend you purchase your snowboarding gear.
PURCHASE YOUR GEAR IN THIS ORDER:
1. Apparel, all of the items you wear on your body.
2. Boots. Make sure you invest in quality boots as your boots will significantly impact your comfort level on the mountain. If your budget allows, you can purchase your boots at the same time as your apparel.
3. Snowboard. By purchasing your snowboard last, it will give you additional time to rent boards and determine which type of board you like best. Snowboards vary greatly, and a different type of board will ride so much differently.
COST-SAVING TIPS:
1. Don't be afraid to look at second-hand gear. Used Snowboarding Gear is a great way to get your first set of gear. There are plenty of second-hand gear shops, marketplaces, etc. that have great deals. I purchased a used snowboard and it was such a great deal.
2. There are always lots of good sales at the end of the ski season. If you can plan that far ahead, purchase your gear at the end of the season to use for the next season.
3. Look for mid-summer sales. Most snowboard shops will have huge sales mid-summer to prepare for the snowboarding gear coming in.
4. Look for plenty of Black Friday and Christmas sales. Additionally, I included above some of my favorite online retailers that have good prices on their gear.
