At first I was like 'eh, why would I watch a review, I've played this game to death as a kid'. But then I was like 'eh, it's Wood, this should be interesting'. And it was :)
But one thing I disagree on quite a bit is the music - I found it was very chill and atmospheric and suited the tone of the game perfectly. It's not memorable in that you download the soundtrack and play it in the gym, sure, but it's distinctive enough for me to be able to recognise whether a piece of music is from the series.

This was my favorite game when I was younger and honestly I feel like it always will be. I mostly enjoyed the skateboarding and the charge/race side quests :3. I'm sad I never got to finish the game fully because of how my memory cards don't work with suck an old game on my PS2 :c

I remember getting the PS1 DualShock bundle along with the original Spyro game and being so excited about the vibration on the controller that i would run head first into walls just to feel it.

I enjoyed the Spyro games back in the day. My younger brother had a friend who brought the first two games over one weekend. I sat down and played through them. I personally like these kind of games, that collectathon style. Yeah, there isn't much story wise, but like you said, it's not a big deal. Still a nice game series to unwind with in my opinion.

I can understand the idea of boredom one could get from playing it. It mainly has to do with simplicity, which is what Insomniac wanted. The series was made on the idea that kids to mothers who've never played games before could be attracted to it. To me, the series says that simplicity isn't always a bad thing, especially with the spoiled gaming world we live in today. Also a shame you didn't enjoy the music. Stewart Copeland made it and continues to impress me to this day, especially as a musician myself.

Wood's You n Tiffany are adorable couple. Great review The entire Spyro series is very enjoyable and replayable. The graphics were pretty decent for the time. But, now we are spoiled with such games as GTA V. Assassin's Creed series, and so many other current gen games. But, playing the original NES, SNES SEGA and other RETRO systems makes you feel young again

Loved the review wood. Why did the in game footage change every now and again from old style to widescreen? The wide screen looked a lot crisper was it played through a PS3?
