I have just got myself a GSXR 750. I have only been riding for about three months and everything you have said is totally correct. It is all about experience but mostly self control. You can have a fast bike, but you don’t always need to redline it.

I got myself a Gsxr 750 2012 as a first bike. The sound, the feel, the power. Its the best thing ever. Have i sped? Yes. Did i do it in a schoolzone? No!

Know where your limits are and speed safe.

I love my gixxer. And I do not regret a second that i bought it as my first bike.

I had zero exp before this summer.

10/10.

I started on a GSX-R 750 K8. In the beginning torque kept me humble, so I learned how to be gentle. I ride that same bike still, I love it and I don't feel like ever selling it, it's my bike. If you can contain yourself, you're good to start on it

It may be a fast bike but it is very user-friendly. I have a 2015. I love it.

I like how you repeated. RESPECT THE BIKE! a lotta dudes get big CC bikes to flex with no experience and refuse to say those words. Nice Vlog!

Started roughly a year and a half ago on my stepdads 2000 GSXR 750. Moving on to a street triple 675 soon now to mellow out a bit while having a good time.

You *can* start on it but its not a good starter bike. You spend majority of the time respecting the hell out of it or acting a hooligan, and I do think compared to your 300-500cc counterparts, the 750 rider is going to take longer to get the basics down as the threat of the throttle never goes away. I will say however I have a very good throttle hand now.

If you're in a situation like me where the 750 was genuinely the best option money wise (was 18, 20 now) then yeah its doable. But if you have options, absolutely wouldnt recommend it as a starter

As someone who owns an 06 gsxr 750 and a 17 r1, the gsxr is my baby, the r1 I take to bike shows or days where there's absolutely no traffic. But the 750 is my "daily" if I decide to ride instead of driving. Perfect balance of course with a mature way of thinking.... end of the day any bike could kill you

It is all is about how you use your head.not a lot of deference between 600 and 750,

I started on a K6 750. It was the easiest bike to learn on outside of the scooters we road in Motorcycle Safety Class. I started with limiting 1st gear to 4k. Then a month later 5k, then so on and eventually when I hit 12k I was an expert at riding. You can start on any bike, the throttle limits your own limitations. If you cant control your throttle you deserve to crash.

No judgment at all... I considered starting on 600 but I got a ninja 400 and could not be happier w the move. It's SO light and enough power for me for sure.. Esp for my riding style and perfecting riding technique.. Unless ur trying to do straight highway high speed rips then it's def not for u. But riding style matters and i really enjoy leaning it over and hitting twisties in here in PA.. its so dam fun. Next bike will either be R7 - RS660 or my dream bike growing up.... The gixxer 750 😁

I have a bobber that I love but I want a second bike. Jumped on my buddies r3 and was VERY disappointed. Good bike but not what I expected AT ALL. The price difference between the 600 and 750, you might as well get the 750.

I started off with a 750 with no problems you get a 600 you will master it, then you will want more power. So people do you but take time and respected the power..

You think a 950 Supersport is easier?? I’ve been told that might be a little easier for 1st bike Vs the 750

I’m 6’0 290 lbs do you think this would be a good first bike for me? I’m afraid I’m too big for a 600.

Yeah, but when someone smokes you on a Ninja 400 on track, just understand it’s because you started on a bike that was too big for you

Provided very self controlled person--- if just want to ride around basics on a bike you can start on an M1000RR lol.... but if you want to develop a deep skill set without bad habits even a 600 is a horrible first bike as so much will be dedicated to controlling that beast rather than riding it and tweaking errors. if you want to be an advanced rider the start small and really work on dialing in fundamentals is sound advice.

For someone lacking self control any sort of supersport or hypernaked is absolutely a bad idea, but there's an argument as well to be made that a lack of self control type is going to hurt themselves on anything. Just all depends.
