"What is a 750?" In my honest opinion and assessment; it is the "Goldilocks" zone for motorcycles.
Just as nimble and flickable as a 600, more useable on the streets than a 1000; still has more than enough beans to scare the stupid out of you, but won't leave you wanting for sauce either.
The GSX-R 750 is THE BIKE that "started it all" for modern "crotch rockets", whatever super sport street bike you own/love/ride...you owe a debt of gratitude to the GSX-R 750. All the insanity and ridiculous horsepower and otherworldly chassis wouldn't be where they are today without it. Like em, love em, take em or leave em....the Gixxer is the reason all other super sports exist.
Back in the day 750cc was the most predominant displacement class in sport bike racing (bit of a different animal than the Moto-GP we know and love today).

45 years a go, Japanese manufacturers/riders made a answer (750 is best balance on the street)
It is unchanged as of today.

Yeah, the 16 gsxr1000 is very comfortable. I can ride it all day and not feel it. I had the R1 prior to it and that thing felt like torture after 45 minutes. Don't lane split, assume everyone is trying to hit you, wear your gear, stay sober, don't let bad drivers get you upset/emotional and you'll increase your odds of staying alive.

i have to disagree, i have owned all 3 600, 750 and 1000. i have returned to riding after a 12yr break and my choice was the 750. faster than all 600s, more flick able than any 1000 and comfortable to ride. Personally i dont like liter bikes for the road but thats just me.

I have 88, 000 miles on my GSX750R, bought it with zero miles brand new. Still love it! Only thing is the shift sensor keeps wearing out every 30, 000 miles.

I just can't imagine changing bikes ffom my GSXR 1000. I love the thing so much that I haven't even touched my Harley since I got the GSXR

In my opinion they all feel the same until you get on the gas. Weight difference is not that much. 1000’s are super easy to wheelie. 600’s and 750’s you have to bounce it and clutch it at the same time to bring it up. It comes down to do you want a civic or a corvette. Street driving 1000 is the way to go. You don’t always have to down shift to pass or to merge on the freeway. Has good power when you have a passenger. 600’s save gas and are fun in the canyons. I stopped riding though because people really don’t care about others on the road. They’re too consumed by Instagram than eyes on the road.

First thing a 750 is a big difference between a 600 trust me I've had both.. And us British don't mod our bikes?? Maybe you should visit UK and see for yourself buddy 😂

Sportbikes: 1000 (lots of torque but too much for the twisties), 600 (great for twisties but down on torque), 750 (good compromise between the two). Also, since the usable rev range of a 600 is so wide, the power delivery is more gradual and linear. The 1000 has a narrower rev range so the power comes on more abruptly. Again the 750 is a good compromise between the two. Many people have 1000s, many people have 600s, few people have 750s. The insurance on a 750 is likely lower than on a 1000. The weight of a 750 is very close to that of a 600 but substantially less than that of a 1000. The cost of a good used 750 is usually about $1000 to $2000 lower than that of a good used 1000.

6 good reasons to get a 750.

Sorry but the difference in power between a 750 and a 600 is def not the case of some mild mods to a 600. That kinda talk may impress some squids but not those who have owned both. Maybe if you actually did some track work on both instead of just popping the wheel up on some straight road every now and then
you'd understand.

So if your whole argument was that changing the sprockets on a 600 made it faster than a 750, well what if you ALSO changed the sprockets on a 750? The 750 would be even faster.
Plus, why would you want to change sprockets on anything other than a stunt bike and lose all that top end?

And stock to stock the 750 will hang all day with a 1000 cant say that about the 600

um gsxr 750 tops out at 180+mph same as the 1000's 180+mph but the 600 at 160+mph just another thing to have in mind

I thought the point of 750 over 600 was the extra low-end torque which is nice for daily riding (without adding the +40 lbs of a liter bike). I got the Triumph 765 for even more low-end torque from the triple arrangement, again with no care about the top end ... it's way too fast for this weekend warrior already. Gixxer 750 is a beauty though!

The power to weight ratio on the 750 is much better than the 600. it is a 600 frame and running gear with a 750cc motor in it. if you spend the money and mod it correctly you are going to be moving right there with the liter bike's. If you know how to ride you'll be eating up the liter bike's.

The 600 and 750 also have different throttle bodies and the airbox besides the motor and ecu.

I might be buying a 2017 gsxr 750. It will be my second bike after my 400 Yamaha dt. Can't wait to see if it happens. Can't believe I am being financed and that my wife is coming around to the idea. I am 55 almost 56.

I bought a k8 750 after watching this, I’ve since added -1, +2 sprockets, the things a beast if I give a good twist, very satisfying especially since I was interested in changing for a z1000, but after changing the gearing I have no want to upgrade to a bigger bike

My wife has a 15 GSXR 750 and I have a 17 GSXR 1000. It's actually nice to ride the 750 once in a while it definitely is more nimble. But damn that gsxr 1000 Power Band! You can definitely tell a difference. 750 is a perfect bike for the in-between.

A 1k is god speed. A 750 is super quick. A 600 is still fast but 750s leave busses on them. My 750 is built. Bigger pistons, raised compression and steep sprockets for drag racing. -1 +4, ecu flash header etc.. My 750 hAs shit on every year and make 600, 636, and zx750. No competition on the straights and my bike only tops out 161 redlined cuz the sprockets. Just my 2 cents.
