How to get Pantone Colors in Adobe Illustrator 2024

Adobe no longer supports free Pantone colors in the 2024 version of Adobe Illustrator. Here is how you can get your pantone color books into your Adobe app with a few simple steps.

on PC, the files are under: 'Program Files' > 'Adobe' > 'Adobe Illustrator 2023' > 'presets' > 'en_US' > 'Swatches' > 'Color Books'

If your Illustrator is not in English, the folder under "en_US" will be in your language, for Brasil it's: Presets > pt_BR > Amostras > Livros coloridos

I find all the confusion a bit odd to be fair. As long as you set up a new colour, make it a spot colour, and call it (for instance Pantone 300C), then when your work is sent to a printer, they will have the colour as a separate spot, and be able to print it there end using the correct ink. Just because Adobe has taken the colour swatches away, all you have to do it name it your self correctly as a new spot colour... the printer you use will do the rest when he has your files sent over. No idea why everyone is worried about this being taken away to be honest?!?
