On What’s tea: REAL conversations about nursing + entrepreneurship this week we spill the tea with CRNA Aisha Allen about her ditching bedside nursing and becoming a financially free CRNA- quitting full time working and transitioning to working on her OWN terms.

Subscribe to Aisha's YT channel: @AishaCRNA

We discuss:
1. Mistakes made when applying to CRNA school
2. How to deal with not being supported/adversity in CRNA school or your application process.
3. Gatekeeping in the CRNA industry/ how hard it was getting into CRNA school.
4. How Aisha was able to afford CRNA school + living expenses while not working.
5. Can you REALLY work while in CRNA school?
6. Is CRNA school worth it (return on investment)?
7. Differences between Nurse Practitioners and CRNAs (schooling, readiness to practice and locum jobs after graduating, oversaturation).
8. Side hustles & passive income outside of bedside nursing (how does a CRNA only work 1 day a week)?
9. How to achieve financial stability as a nurse & discussing lifestyle creep.
10. Pay transparency: how much Aisha made at every step of her nursing and CRNA career.
11. How much Aisha made as a brand new/new grad CRNA & how to maximize YOUR pay as a CRNA.
12. Salary ranges & highest paying places and jobs for CRNAs - $350 per HOUR as a staff CRNA?!
13. Anesthesia associates vs CRNAs (requirements for schooling, education, job availability and security, pay) which should YOU choose?
14. Will the CRNA job market become oversaturated & what does the job market look like in 2025?
15. Advice for future CRNAs.

This is a really good episode, the gatekeeping when black women are trying to better themselves is deplorable.

Great episode Morgan. This need to reach all the aspiring CRNAs. You asked all the right questions and Aisha explained everything very well.

As an almost retired CRNA, I am glad to see the young Black HCPs knocking it “outta the park” this is a great episode and I have subscribed. Thank-you Morgan.

Went through the same thing almost 20 years ago. My professor told me she didn’t like me and poisoned the staff against me. Changed my grades. It was a horrible experience. IU Kokomo nursing school. Now, a NP for over 13 years. God knew my path…

This was a great episode. Girl I’m trying to run fast away from this bedside!! And joining the military is truly the cheat code to life!!

She is an inspiration and goals! I was in the army as well for 12 years years. I am a Psych NP, and I have no regrets whatsoever!!

Just subscribed to AISHA as well. Love her energy and she is giving me motivation. I have 6 more months left in my BSN program and I’ve been interested in critical care and the challenge it will bring. I know none of it will be easy but I was a medical assistant for 4 years before I went to nursing school and my heart is in healthcare. Both of them gave me some insight because my end goal has been nurse practitioner but I love medicine and pharm. Time will tell, loved this video❤️

I really enjoyed this episode! I followed her on instagram for a few years now and I’ve been following her journey so it’s cool to see a one to one interview on how she got to where she is now. Thank you for sharing!

18:30, you both are so lucky to have supportive partners throughout school; this is very rare. I wish I had that; my family and partner put me through hell during nursing school. I’m still mentally recovering from it. But they ask me for money 💵 now haha
