I remember a male ER nurse I got when I was pregnant with my daughter. I had gone in early because I thought something was going wrong. Didn't even wait five minutes after he calls me back stating: pregnant women don't wait while Im on shift. He actually did an amazing job at calming me down and keeping me calm.

As a Filipino lots of my family members are in health care. These are the reasons why you should go to nursing school.

On certain holidays your pay is doubled or even tripled
Health insurance
You get to help people
Reasons why I didn't become a nurse:
School is expensive
Requires a massive amount of studying
Also test and school is stressful
I'm not good with death or seeing others in pain
Strict rules as in dress code and protocols
People treat staff and nurses poorly (nightmare stories I hear from my family)
Senior nurses are quite critical (trust me, my mom is one) they'll pass judgement and rarely offer to help newer nurses
Long shift hours
Very short breaks even to pee
High stress environment

Don't get me wrong. Nursing is very rewarding and respected profession, it's just not for everyone especially me

You're right! There's a nursing shortage now, and we need more people to fill this great need. I'm a retired nurse of over 30 years, and I know there's a need for compassionate people to enter the field.

Nurses are way better than doctors. I had to have a tumour removed and my nurse was so sweet. She would gently scold me if I kept my arm below my heart but never be mad. She took such lovely care of me and comforted me when I was scared.
