I’ve got it and have had it for years and I’ve got to be honest, I can deal with the pain.I’ve dealt with Cluster headaches for years and compared to cluster headaches, the back pain is like having a holiday from my Cluster cycle.

I am 46 female been suffering for years with sciatica on left side now it affects my sleep. I go to bed every night with a heat pad. Been going to doctors for years and doing physical therapy it did not help. Did two injections only help for 2-3 days m. My pain is progressing and affecting daily life.

Thank you. I only have pain when I move, but it is then the worst pain of my life, it makes me shout out. I know it is a spasm, but I don't know how to treat it. Obviously I can't stay immobile until the disc repairs. Is there anything I can do? It is so difficult to relax the spasm out, as the muscles are contracting involuntarily. I can only take paracetamol as I have permanent atrial fibrillation as well. Thank you very much.

My pain is awful, had it for a good year. Had epidural shots 2, first worked, second not so much. Bursa still painful and very bad sciatica. Second shot did help the spinal stenosis with 2 bulging disks pain but that’s all. You say not to use pain meds!? If I don’t use gabapentin for the leg pain I can’t sit or sleep. My knee and shin ache so much! I’m getting a separate shot in the bursa. Nothing is healing for me it just gets more painful. I’m 71 and I want to be able to halfway function without constant pain. Over the counter meds don’t do anything for me. I do not want back surgery at my age. But want to live a better quality of life. Would any kind of exercise help to keep me going? 😢🤷🏼‍♀️

Dear Dr ! I am 28 years old and

What you suggest how much should i wait or should go for surgery.

I have mri and shows I have disc bulges from l4-l5-s1. Been having it for 3.5 years, work comp dr sucks in ca, I cannot travel, sleep, walk and sit for too long. Specially when sitting it hurts the most and lumbar keeps making popping and grinding noice when sleeping on sides. All they give me was naproxen, ibuprofen, gabapentine, meloxicam, did chiropractic, acupunctures and pt but my low back still hurts day and night. I got fed up with the pain management dr and requested if he could request for other type of treatment guess what he got mad and told me To See him after 3 months instead of every month as I would. Really frustrating I’m only 39 years old and it’s truly sad to see my self cannot do what a normal man does. I need help any suggestions would help pls.

Seven months man. Both feet and back thighs go numb. S1 nerve root right side. They recommend lumbar injection. Numbness got worse towards end of physical therapy. Will it help or am i destined for back surgery at 33 years of age??? Otherwise im completely healthy. Very frustrated and feel so alone and unnoticed.

ive had weakness in the calf (can’t do a single calf raise) and minor heel numbness for about 6 weeks now. no pain besides the feeling of a pull nerve on the affected area when attempting to stretch. been going to a chiropractor for about 2-3 weeks, 3x per. walking a lot without any issues. symptoms hasn’t gotten worst since onset which was a month ago. taking MRI this week just in case. i know this will take time to heal but no way am i doin back surgery unless the results are horrible.

I've had nagging issues in the low back for a few months. For the most part it's been tolerable, but there have been several more painful flareups, including the 1 and only time pain has traveled down the leg all the way to the calf. I've also been having some enigmatic pain between the first and second metatarsal in my feet, which is perhaps getting confused with some other metatarsal capsulitis pains. Now I'm wondering if some of the pain is related to the back. I'm trying to schedule an MRI, but given my symptoms don't seem quite as bad as other many other people I'm thinking I may have a bulging but not herniated disc. So, I guess I'm wondering if "bulging" discs tend to heal on a similar timeline? Especially considering nothing is protruding for the body to re-absorb. Please let me know what you think, I'm an active guy, still pretty young and these issues are devastating my life and effecting my relationships.

I had 2 bone spurs removed and a laminectomy and disctomomy in 2016 ..the radiation down my leg went away ..but Im still having a lot of pain and weakness..I've had a few epidurals in the past couple years and only the first one helped the rest not so much . . I'm going back to the pain clinic next Wednesday..seems like a waste of time

L4-L5 herniated disc here with arthritist from L1-L4. Went through surgery for the herniated discs over 7 years ago, pain was still present several months after but i lived with it because i did not want to go through another surgery again. I just recently went through some epidural injections, mbb and the most recent rfa a couple weeks ago, NONE of them worked so i am looking at spinal cord stimulator, hope that helps.
