That whole speech was almost word for word in the book. Thank God they did that. When I saw this in the theatre I knew what was coming. I almost broke down halfway through because it was so real. I felt the grief and shock that Katniss just felt when the hospital was bombed. I felt the anger.

And when I watched it just now, I had to watch it again because my eyes were so blurry.

The best performance by J-Law. Ever.

The thing about Cressida is that some people might think she's so cold for thinking only about filming when a bunch of wounded have just been slaughtered. But there's a difference between cold and pragmatic. Cressida knows that what the Capitol is doing is evil. She's fighting in her own way, by showing the rebels what the Capitol really is. Not only did she feel the grief (because she filmed these people), she saw an opportunity and took it. Her forcing Katniss to voice her opinion is her own way of rebelling. That's a good character trait.

The pain in her eyes and her voice. God this is powerful. No one could have delivered those lines with such sincerity. Jennifer Lawrence never fails to astonish me with her talent

I don't know how anyone can say that Jennifer Lawrence is a bad actress when scenes like this show otherwise.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Suzanne Collins made this series very real and easy for everyone to understand. It is scenes like this that make you realize just how terrible this situation is. And just how real it is becoming for us.

What’s sad is that this exact speech is applicable in real life right now.

such a well-acted and powerful scene, brings tears to my eyes everytime!! i love how you can see the sign of the capitol burning down when katniss says "do you see that? fire is catching!" it's the little details that make the story even better :)

Suzanne knew before we did. America, if we burn, you burn with us.

"You can torture us, and bomb us, and burn our districts to the ground. But do you see that? Fire is catching. and if we burn, you burn with us!"

Gave me goosebumps when I was 11, still gives me goosebumps at 19. I've tried to do her monologue many times but I can never get to the level of such depth as Jenn does here. It's incredible

Learning about the bombing of the hospital in Gaza reminded me of this moment
The capitol is to the districts as Israel is to Gaza

When you’re older and realize Suzanne Collins was basically telling everybody that the government doesn’t really care about people

You gotta give Jennifer credit for her commitment with this franchise. She delivered pure, raw emotions. That contained anger, the electricity, being bold and defiant, yet still aware of her weaknesses and being afraid of losing the things that mattered the most to her. She has kinda lost that spark in many of the films she made after these. Maybe it is the roles she has landed in recent years, maybe it is because growing up and being more mature and calm... A woman in her 30s isn't the same as in her 20s... Still like her though, and I'm so grateful we got these movies starring with her.
