Is Assault the Worst Map in CS 1.6?

Показать описание
cs_assault was one of the worst. Or perhaps the best maps in CS 1.6.
Was cs_assault cs 1.6 the best map? This cs 1.6 assault tricks video will tell you that that entirely depends on who you ask.
Some will say that the Assault cs 1.6 was an absolute nightmare to play as a CT as it was massively T-sided, others will argue that you could join a random pub, pick the unbalanced side, and still stomp on the other team on cs_assault.
My guess regarding cs_assault would be that cameras on both sides had a lot to do with it as you could see what's happening on the opposing team in a matter of seconds and inform your teammates as a result.
The cs_assault map had quite a lot of areas you could hide out in as a T as well, and since cs_assault cs 1.6 was based on a hostage rescue mission, terrorists often stomped the opposing team without ever leaving the spawn.
Even if some left the spawn, they would still have a place to cover themselves as the map was riddled with boxes players jumped on and used for cover.
The roof was accessible only after leaving the spawn as a terrorist and thus it was more frequently used by CTs instead, however, if you'd want to move into the cs_assault T spawn to rescue hostages, you would need to use the roof to reach the T spawn anyway or walk and open doors outside.
Regardless of which path in cs_assault CTs took, they would still be meeting terrorists. If you dropped into the ventilation on the roof you would be shot because it was more easily accessible by them than by you, and if you opted for an access path from the outside, it'd also be very likely to be monitored as well.
CTs on cs_assault cs 1.6 also had cameras, but in their own spawn, which means that smarter teams playing cs_assault could leave a player in the van to check on cameras and what's going on, but then, if the rest of his team would be eliminated, he would practically have no chances to survive on cs_assault either.
It is my observation that when playing cs_assault, CTs were at a massive disadvantage when playing cs_assault cs2, however, proper teamwork and weaker opponents on the T side often made the impossible possible.
