Isn't it true that if there's swelling from fluid that the fluid needs to be removed first and then inject the steroid afterward? My mom has pseudogout and a lot of swelling from fluid. They gave her a steroid shot, but didn't remove the fluid first. It didn't help at all, I suspect because they didn't first remove the fluid. Seems like the fluid would dilute the steroid and stop it from working. I also hear that the fluid itself is sort of inflammatory.

I'm not sure why you would pushed the needle all the way through and then back it put half way. If it only needs to go halfway then do it that way and save the possible pain that comes from getting your bone or nerves jabbed by a long needle.

You should always aspirate before injection to ensure you are not in a vessel.

Video for teaching skills could be improved. Would be much more helpful to draw the anatomical landmarks first because students are not there to palpate them. There are other approaches to a knee injection, why not mention or show those as well?
