718 Boxster S, 242 laps on Ring, june 16 - july 23 2017; No crash.
Great car, no problems; 12810 km in Germany, 5041 km on the Ring. No issues. new tires and brake pads.
Sound is not a concern when going in circles. Dave from Montana USA.

The last comments are spot on. Until I started tracking this car, the only thing that really excited me was how it looked. After tracking it, well, I have to tell you, the car is astoundingly quick in the curves and the PDK shifting is absolutely sublime. Carreras really have to work hard to stay with this perfectly balanced car. When you drive this car home from your first track experience, you will have an epiphany - I promise. Tracking this car legitimizes everything that Porsche stands for in an automobile.

'It doesn't make me laugh and giggle'... Does exactly that 5 seconds later!

Coming back to this in 2020, I really like this car. I loved what Sam did from the color to the STG decals on it. One of his best cars he ever owned in my opinion.

Probably wouldn't rattle if you hadn't disassembled the whole car to add the wrap.

“It doesn’t really make me laugh and giggle.” 5 seconds later he laughs and giggles at the acceleration.

Sam, I had a Cayman S for two years and your comment on the lack of emotional attachment is right on. I never got into the spirit of the car even though it was fabulous to drive. I am just outside of NYC and I never, like you, thought I was able to really take advantage of the full capabilities of the car. I did have the attachment to the S2000 I owned, but not the Cayman. Keep the great videos coming. KO

The cinematography in this was exceptional. Really felt like the production quality was higher than your usual high standards. A real joy to watch!

I have a 981 CGTS with 18K miles. YES - the passenger seatbelt buckle bounces between the door and the seat so i also click it in when someone isn't in the car. While I like my engine more than the new one, the car does everything absolutely great. Grocery getter, highway cruiser, or mountain roads. You definitely need to thrash it more. It carries so much speed into and through corners, you'll be keeping up with the guys on sport bikes. Especially with the gobs of low end torque you have. As for emotional connection - I also agree. Love my car. But then I took a drive in an F430. Oh boy. Enjoy your 360!

Great video, I just got a Cayman and I’m loving it, not flashy, not super fast, not super expensive and can drive it a few times a week

Can't go wrong with Porsche. Their are a whole lot Porsche videos. With drivers Brian Redman, Derek Bell and Hans Stuck who all three have had very successful careers driving for Porsche racing. Those gentleman are a big reason why I'm such a big Porsche fan.

Why would you cover the Clay (a $3000 option) with green wrap?? P.S. my [Macan] GTS has 30k miles, driven it from FL to Breck Colorado and stayed in mountains for a year and there are zero noises or loose parts. Going for 718 gts next.

The Cayman is a great looking car and the performance is superb for a turbo charged engine.Yeah get it on track or those country roads, then it will show it’s spirit and soul.

The Cayman S definitely has two characters, both of which are damn good!

I have a 3.4 S and yes on a nice 80mph run it gets 28mpg but show it a few corners and it comes alive 😀

Would love to see a cost display video of the costs included with owning it and driving 7000 miles / 6 month period. Like, insurance, fuel, maintenance and such. Keep it up :)

If you’re not going to track it but want to enjoy the “sports car” part, you’ll do just fine with a base model without sport chrono (all models have normal and sport modes), and get some comfort options. The wrap looks nice but the metallics look better (though I do like lava orange and Miami blue). I have a 718 Boxster S (used to have a wonderful 987 Cayman). The Cayman is a beautiful design but the top-down capability of the Boxster adds an emotional edge you won’t find on the Cayman.

I must say, I've never been disappointed by Sam's choice of intro music. It's on point everytime. 👌
