what really impresses me is the discipline of the Ukrainian soldiers. It may not look like much but the fact that at least one person remains on look out in an apparently safe area demonstrates really good training and field discipline.

Looks like a tech company's boss dragged them out to a paintball park for a team building exercise.

Why die and fight for Putin's ego? 🥴

I read something the other day that was attributed to Field Marshal Zhukov, the famous Russian general from WW2 - “in the Red Army, you have to be a very brave man to be a coward”. I assume that this relates to the fact that it was very likely a death sentence if you deserted/surrendered and were captured by your own side.

This is the most honourable thing to do. This is not your war. 👍💯

As a russian who is forced to fight the biggest chance of survival is just to surrender.

The Court of Justice of the European (CJEU) has held that members of the military participating indirectly in a conflict can be granted asylum for desertion.

To surrender doesn’t make you a Coward.
It allows you to live again for Peace.

We should send them out thermal imaging camera’s so they can spot them in that sort of terrain

Surrendering is the decent option, and the one that lets them see their kids grow up.

Good to see this. Lives saved regardless of which side they're on has to be celebrated. Fewer orcs to wage war is even better. 🇺🇦💪🇺🇦💪

I see only one guy, not many as the headline is suggesting...and we don't even know he is Russian. For all I see, that is a dude in random uniform, with his hands in the air....

There is going to be a lot of surrendering from those who were forced into this fight.

Good. Soldiers should always be allowed to surrender and be treated with dignity even if your enemy doesn´t always abide by these rules. That´s how you keep the moral high ground and your own humanity.
