The first time I heard this I was in a car following my dad’s ambulance on the way to the emergency room.

This song hit hard. A lot of Bjork’s music is about naming stress and terrible things and using art to move through them.

This song is about emergency: all that emerges.

Nothing about Björks work is coincidental, notice the drums are created by samples of volcanic activity in Iceland. Notice also the line "state of emergency" is slightly anticipated when she sings it. Pure genius. Vespertine, Medulla and Biophilia are 3 wonderful musical experiences.

I recommend you react to All is Full of Love, the Music Video version. It's one of those rare perfect songs where the lyrics and melody land absolutely perfectly with the chord changes and harmony. The lyric "Love" always lands on the Tonic note (C) and it has a warm feeling that Bjork is trying to convey with her lyrics. She's a true virtuoso, and music genius.
