Cheesy Bacon Pasta

200g fusilli or pasta of choice
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
1/2 white onion
2 garlic cloves
Chopped basil
3 cooked bacon rashers (or more to preference)
1 cup double cream/ heavy cream/ half and half
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 - 1 cup Parmesan cheese
