I purchased a new 1991 Toyota pickuyp with the 3.0L V6 engine. Brand new truck idled rough and dealership promised to fix the problem. Six months later, the best solution they offered was to demonstrate how the idle stabilized when they pinched off the fuel return line. The dealership never said what was done to solve the problem, but 370, 000 miles later and to this day, I have not experienced fuel delivery or idle problems with this truck.

You didn't mention this symptom and I'm wondering if all they did was to place a restrictor on the fuel return line.

This might be a good question though, but my Cadillac Seville Elegante 368 v8 6.0l (1980) has a cracked Fuel return line, does this also decrease fuel pressure??

I have a 2011 Avalanche LS 5.3, my fuel pressure gauge starts at 53psi the drops to 42 psi, I have replaced fuel pump, both knock sensors, map sensor, maf sensor, spark plugs, Catalytic converter is good, the strange thing is I do not get any codes. Thanks, when I startup the car, it has low rpm it reaches below one but I switch it off and start it up again it becomes good and the rpm goes up to two, may you help me with that? Thanks

Thanks. So low fuel pressure cannot be my problem. My car (2006 Opel Tigra Twintop) starts fine but cuts out after 10 secs. Under advice of those who know more than me, I changed the fuel filter, the fuel pump (nightmare); no difference. As for the regulator, mine is within the fuel pump assembly, fitted to and part of the whole fuel pump assembly and not sold as a separate item. I have a Schrader valve on the fuel rail to take a pressure tester but 99% of kits don't have the appropriate fitting... go figure. If I hear the click from the rear when turning key to position 2 (1 being just pushing it in) that means electrics are fine, right? Have a cheap Obd2 tool but that's not showing any codes; would buy even up to 200 dollar one if it would find the fault but have spent much time reading up on them and they all have a considerable number of detractors -- 10% of 45, 000 ratings puts me off. Any advice please??
