Braun Series 9 Wet & Dry Electric Shaver Review. Very expensive, but a great shaver

I have used just about every shaver on the market, and this is the best of them. My beard type makes rotary shavers useless to me, which is a shame because they are so much quieter than linear shavers. This new series 9 Braun is noticeably quieter than the series 8 shavers were. For that alone it is worth the money to me. I don't really think the new shaver head is any better than the old series 8 head though. This is my 3rd Braun shaver and I will probably stay with it for a while. My last shaver was a Panasonic Arc5. They are very quiet and shave very well when new, but as the heads wear they get much noisier, and the head life is very poor. You need to replace the heads every 6 to 12 months on the Panasonics and they are expensive! For anyone who was wondering, the cleaning station for the series 8 will not work with the series 9 even though it is almost identical. The cleaning cartridges work though. I gave up on the cleaning stations and began using canned air to clean the shaver. It works at least as well, is much cheaper and much faster.

This is a great electric razor. Throughout the years I have tried all the major brands of electric razors which all gave me a really bad razor burn, and they would pull out the hair on my face. Well with this Braun Series 9 9093s electric razor, there is no razor burn or hairs being pulled out on my face. It gives a very close shave. It is almost as good as safety razor in performance. It is really great in giving a quick touch-up before a meeting or after work activity (getting rid of my 5 O'clock shadow.) This razor is very easy to clean and maintain. This instrument charges-up very fast and maintains it's charge for s long time. The travel pouch makes it handy to take this razor on trips, suffice it to say. I whole heartedly recommend this beautifully made product.

The Braun Series 9 has a precision trimmer that is easy to operate and is intuitive when using the shaver. The shaver comes with a convenient travel case which fits the shaver better than any I have seen with previous shavers. There is also a small brush for cleaning. Overall, the Braun Series 9 shaver is excellent for those guys that desire a close shave without a razor.

I use the Braun series 7. But the tip is for me to shave everyday so your skin get use to it. Before I shave in the shower I scrub my face with a pristle brush. Put shaving cream then shave. The key is to use Nivea Sensitive cooling post shave Balm to avoid irritation. I don't get irritation nor do I get bumps. But you have to use the balm to avoid the bumps and irritation. Peace

Thanks for the overview, enjoyed it. Just bought the Series 9 and am trying to make sure I understand the instructions correctly. One question I have, the instructions seem to indicate that after a wet shave the unit should be pre cleaned and then allowed to dry before placing in the cleaning station. Am I understanding that right? Thanks advance.

Does this irritate your skin? I'm currently using the Wahl Finale and it doesn't irritate my skin but it leaves behind a few hairs here and there. I buzz it down of corse with my Andis Pro-Line Li....I'm looking for something such as this where I don't have to do that anymore. I just want to be able to use the electric razor itself and not have to trim it down. I'm talking about face shaving by the way....let me know....

I don't think you are supposed to use this shaver with shaving cream.
