I put a 12 gauge slug through a javelinas eye sockets. No sign of any damage or eyeballs. Now I’m not going to say that’s where I was aiming. But it makes for a great story.

I was a Marine Corps Scout Sniper from 1987 to 1995. At that time, the .50 BMG and dedicated .50 sniper rifles were just coming online. What I know what about ballistics is that the pressure caused by a traveling round causes a pressure wave. When left uninterrupted (ie, a near miss) the pressure emitted is 20 times less then if the bullet struck something softer and dumped its energy into the target.
Gotta say, this one is perplexing. Honestly, the vacuum effect doesn’t make sense. The pressure is too low and the actual wave too narrow. That’s not me saying it didn’t happen mind you…. I don’t honesty know what happened….. just spit balling physics

We used to do that in Afghanistan with the ACM. Hits were preferred but not required.

Not to creat an argument, and I have watched your shows for MANY YEARS. But I agree completely with what several others have said here, that round went directly through the eyes 👀 and dropped her dead ☠️ in her tracks.

That's a big no. The shockwave is hardcore in any solid or semisolid media, but it doesn't do anything when traveling through air. Just makes the supersonic crack, and that's it.
