In this "If I Could Talk" sequel, the bond between Canine and man carries on. A elderly man Jim Van Shaw (Don Miller) recovers after loosing his yellow lab 40 years prior. Now Jim finds himself loosing his wife to cancer some 40 years later at the start of "If I Could Bark" here he forms a lasting bond with a dog named Ranger that he finds salvation in till his very end.
