"Brock is the definition of simple"

So I'm the only one who grinded Pikachu all the way to Level 20 so it learns Slam in Pokemon Yellow just to beat him

Janine. She has level 30's at a stage in the game where you've already beaten the elite four. And Blaine in Gold/Silver/Crystal too.

I like how Wulfic literally calls himself a pushover lmao

Not gonna lie but I completely forgot there was an Ice gym in X&Y

You forgot to mention that in Fire Red/Leaf Green Charmander can learn Metal Claw at 13 (I think) which is super effective and deals decent damage especially if you grind to evolve him to Charmeleon.

Candice is probably the only "hard" ice type gym.

I will add one tiny thing to note: prior to Gen 5, Sturdy actually didn't function like it does now, it only protected Pokémon form moves like Guillotine and Fissure, and moves of that ilk wouldn't be available to you in Ruby/Sapphire anyway, meaning the Sturdy in the original games was about as impactful as Magnet Pull in ORAS

I feel like “easiest late game gyms” would be a better video. Having like three spots taken up by first gyms is kinda... well, duh?

Ambipom is base 115. Faster than latios, gengar, raichu, espeon, charizard, etc.

I bet you could put all the Kalos Gym Leaders would be on this list as one entry because they're all equally pathetic and easy. Especially Wulfric.

Ambipom has a base speed of 115. Yeah, slow indeed

Lt Surge. Because if you have any trouble with him, catch a Diglett, and a lvl 22 diglett should be enough

I think Lt. Surge in either Red/Blue/Green/Yellow or FireRed/LeafGreen deserved a spot here too, as you can catch a Diglett/Dugtrio in Diglett's cave before fighting him making it literally a landslide, which is literally just outside the town.

Honestly, I would have though that Bugsy would make the list. With a Team of: Metapod, Kakuna, Scyther, there is only one Pokemon that offers any potential challenge. Pokemon like Cyndaquil/Quilava, Pidgey/Pidgeotto, Spearow, Zubat, Hoothoot, Onix, Geodude, can offer super effective moves, and high defense to make Scyther a non threat.

One point on Brock: Mankey was in Red, but not in Blue. For those of us playing Blue and using Charmander, we had to get a Caterpie, train it up to a Butterfree, until it knew Confusion.

Everything else you could get by that point, as far as I know, Brock's Pokemon were resistant to.

Some other possibilities I would've included
-Olympia from X and Y, solely for the fact that her team's anchor is a Meowstic that is only a few levels higher than the Meowstic that your rival uses, and you have to fight your rival before you enter Olympia's Gym, so you probably already have a strong Psychic counter.
-Roxie from B2W2, you can catch a Magnemite in the Virbank Complex just south of her Gym, which is immune to all her Poison moves, and it can learn Sonic Boom for consistent damage.
-Marlin from B2W2, another case of his team not having very good type coverage. though this is remedied slightly in Challenge Mode.

Never played diamond. But Roark's gym from Platinum was trash. You should have no problems if you choose Piplup or Turtwig and I evolved my chimchar and swept through his team with a stab Mach punch . Moreover you can catch a budew before coming to this gym

For some reason it took me the longest to beat Cress/Cylan/Chili, cause i never knew about the free monkey u can get

Lorelei is the only only Ice type "gym" I can ever recall having trouble with, but even then she's not exactly packing a power house team. I'd love for them to somehow make an ice challenge work in Pokemon.
