Maria Quitéria. Estou impressionado. Aqui no Brasil poucas pessoas sabem quem foi ela, realmente aqui só se fala dela uma vez na escola e nem se toca mais no assunto.
Meus parabéns, ganhou o meu gostei.

As a legendary hero, Araribóia would be a better choice to represent Brasil.

Despite he was a real warrior and chief of a brazilian tribal group, there is a legend about he swam alone at night in the waters of the Guanabara Bay and destroyed the arsenal of the french fortress in an island during the existence of the "France Antarctique".

🇧🇷😉

INDIA ❤️The sport's highest honor is given in the name of Arjuna, the heroic warrior of India. Arjuna is the hero of Mahabharata, the world's greatest epic. A very powerful bow called Gandivam, seven feet high Arjuna won all the wars with it. There are 10 names including the name Vijayan because there are only victories. Indian people believe that reciting these names will remove fear.🙏

One of my favorite heroes from mythology is Rama from Hindu mythology

Ganga Zumba is not as celebrated as his son Zumbi of Palmares. Anyway, the only national hero in Brazil who has an actual holiday named after him is Joaquim José da Silva Xavier, known as Tiradentes. Nevertheless, both fit more as "martyrs" than actual "heroes". Maria Quitéria, on the other hand, was a very good choice for this video. 🇧🇷

There's also a game called Fate Grand Order (short for FGO).
Where in this game you command heroes that were in the history books and fix the course of humanity.
I will not spoil for those who didn't know the game but to those who know, don't spoil.

Oda Nobunaga is neither a hero nor a villain.

Paul Bunyan and Robin Hood are just folklore legends that nobody knows if they are exists in real life or not.

For Poland, I'd say another good choice would be King Piast, the first legendary king of Poland; to this day some Poles romantize him, calling ourselves "Piast people", such as in the famous song Rota by Maria Konopnicka.

Many of this list mixing between mythology and historical figure.
King arthur, badang, arjuna are myth.
Oda, yi shun sin, lapu2, gajah mada is historical figure.

I'm not sure Mr Twardowski is greatest Polish hero. I would say Zawisza The Black, historical warrior-swordsman. Till this day we say: "Count on me like on Zawisza".

There are many peoples in Russia who have their own national heroes. I live in Mari El.

There are two subethnicities living in this republic: the Hill Mari and the Meadow Mari. The Hill Mari's national hero is called Akpars. In legends he joined Ivan the Terrible's final campaign against Kazan to stop the long wars between Russsians and Tatars which were fought on Mari soil and were devastative to Mari.

The Meadow Mari's hero is Chotkar. He once defeated nomadic invaders and lay under a hill for eternal sleep and told that he could be summoned again if nomads come back. One boy summoned him for fun telling nomads are back. He came out of the hill, look around, saw no nomads and got furious. He never would come back to fight invaders again. And when Mongols really came he wouldn't help.

Legendary hero - this kind of hero, that we don't know really exist or not

Yi Sun Sin - really exist
Oda Nobunaga - really exist

Probably many more of them exist too

One of my favorite "heroes" is Grettir the strong from Norway. He basically lives in a power metal album cover, but his escapades are more hilarious than anything:

- Murders a berserker kicking his shield through his face (he was biting his shield).
- Defeats a draugr by cutting his head and putting his face on his buttocks (standard procedure at the time).
- Swims through a frozen lake, emerges all covered in ice, the monks on a church try to fight him with burning logs and accidentally set fire to themselves (they thought he was a troll).
- Murders a child while being tried for the deaths of the monks that set fire to themselves (Not making this up, the child flipped him the bird).

That saga is amazing.

King Arthur and Robin Hood. Probably because they are the two legends I know the most. Plus their stories are fun and interesting.

I feel like if you put Hannibal as the Tunisian hero you should put Scipio as the Italian one.

Scipio is an undefeated general who defeated Hannibal, the greatest enemy Rome ever had, and he's also the only general in the Italian national anthem.

Hannibal Barca carthaginian general (modern day tunisia 🇹🇳) known as Rome worst nightmare, most skilled general of all. He was indeed ahead of his time for his brilliant tactics that outsmarted and humiliated the romans on their own homeland, really disappointing end for him if only he wasnt betrayed by his own people. Great video!
