I think it’s important to differentiate between weight… and fat.

Well, after Abrahamsen's performance at the TdF2024, maybe this myth will come down easier.

So if I lose these extras 60lbs it won't help me much? Very well then that's the end of my diet and on my way to order a big Mac combo lol

This is a really interesting topic for me. I used to put way too much emphasis on W/kg and that held me back. I'm a male that weighs around 57-58kg at 1.8m height. My FTP is currently at 4.6w/kg and I am wondering if gaining weight could help improve my actual power? looking at w/kg, it's not the best, but it's decent, however at an FTP of just over 260w, i'm not fast. Should I try and improve my power while staying at this weight or keep my w/kg the same by gaining weight and trying to improve power?
Note: its a massive struggle for me to gain weight and improving my power is also a super slow process even though I work with a coach.
also I'm mostly doing gravel and marathon mtb races.
