A team of Harvard scientists just announced they have found the physical source of consciousness. Today, we take a look at what these Harvard scientists just found.

Although scientists spend countless hours and even years of their lives attempting to uncover the secrets of the world, there are always exciting new findings and mysterious phenomenon left to decipher. My neighbor had a very old dog, in human terms, 110 years old. He could barely lift his head to eat. One afternoon, he found the strength to crawl under the deck. It was pretty clear to all of us that he was very conscious that he was going to die soon. He wanted to die in peace, away from everyone and in his favorite, secluded spot, without too much light and images of what he was about to leave behind. Some of us would swear that we heard sounds of soft whining. I tear up, as I write this. As darkness fell, so did silence and so, we waited for morning.

We pulled up the floorboards, the next day, at Noon, and we found him curled up in the fetal position with what looked like a smile of some sort. Maybe it was a grimace.

You can't ascribe consciousness to just to humans. That's arrogance at it's worst. Most higher mammals have that in spades. Just get a puppy and have be a friend for the rest of its life.

Consciousness (western definition) does not have a source in the brain. The brain is more like a receiver. I speak from experience, having 2 near death experiences and seeing my lifeless body while floating over it. I was never more aware of EVERYTHING or had more sensual clarity before or since both of those experiences

How can one know the level of awareness in someone who is unconscious? It sounds more like they’ve found an area of brain that is more active in an conscious state. There’s consciousness with respect to our awareness of our surroundings, and consciousness with respect to oneself and his place in existence.

It is not a great leap of logic to predict human activity in space. The question is will only the priviliged class be able to go into the next frontier. If left up to the billionairs and ruling elite the common man will have to be indentured servants if they can't afford to pay conventionally. Will it be a Bladerunner scenario where only oligarchs and their operatives go to new worlds, or will it be a Star Trek scenario, where all of mankind is elevated?
