Your analysis is very good!
I’m Japanese. I like jyocho.
They make crazy beautiful songs.

Radwimps use sus2 chords often. It's all over their soundtrack for the anime movie "Your Name", for example.

I feel like that was one the most intuitive tutorials I've ever watched. Explanation, voicings and then example.

Thanks so much!

Fell in love with Japanese math rock about a year ago. I’m glad your channel exists. (Found you through Tigran from 6 years ago)

As a music theorist, I really appreciate that you cite specific bands that use the chords and technique you talk about in your videos. I think it's really common for YouTube theorists to say phrases like, "everybody writes songs with this progression, " yet you give us direct evidence and magnificent examples of a clear concept. Thank you for that.

Adding on to the first point: the notes CDG can be read not only as 'Csus2' and 'Gsus4' but also (for the more jazz-inclined) 'D quartal'.

I play bass and gave up learning after the pandemic (actually I play 6 string bass death metal lol) but I never bothered learning music theory or anything, but became decent at making things up on the spot

Now after spending time upgrading a cheap strat piece by piece I wanted to pursue my secret dream of learning math rock lol.

Very simple vid that offers some basic fundamentals that can easily be expanded upon, yet does show how lots of mathrock much like any other genre of music, will have repetitive moments and writing (which I like because then how would we learn and understand the general concepts which we expand upon)
