This was not the best video I have seen because your audio was lousy but I did learn something new so thank you for taking the time to make it

Great concise video. Thanks. I changed the pressure switch and it didn't help until I also disconnected the battery for 60 seconds. Maybe that reset something in the ECU computer? Also, it is best to disconnect ground first and then the positive cable reinstall in reverse - positive, then ground. Doing this procedure will also delete all of your preset radio stations. So you will have to reset those.

My wifes 2011 escape has had no ac for about 3 years now. We live in florida, so its been brutal, and money has been too tight to fix it. I did have the entire system replaced before we moved -minus the condenser, but it never held a charge. So i recently replaced the condenser/trans cooler myself. Now looking to replace the relays, compresser switch and expansion valve to hopefully and finally fix the issue, before getting it charged this week. Gonna be glorious!

Hey Fred, I have a 2010 Ford Escape 6 cyl that I have been having a/c issues with for over a year. At the same time, the a/c stopped working, the number 1 selection on the fan speed stopped working, and the radiator fans started blowing on high at all times. I believe these issues are connected as many people have all three issues simultaneously.

After taking it to several shops who weren't able to fix it, I decided to fix it myself.

At the beginning of this summer I personally replaced the condensor, the dryer, the expansion valve, and all o-rings and gaskets. After doing this I took it to a shop to have the system vacuumed and charged. afterword the a/c finally worked and worked all summer while the other two issues were still not fixed.

A week ago the a/c stopped working again. I found that the pressure in the system was too high and so I let out some freon until the compressor kicked in. This caused the a/c to work again for a few hours and then it started going out intermittently until it stopped working entirely.

Next, I replaced the sensor that you did in this video and when I turned the car on the a/c still didn't work. I then let out more freon and the a/c turned on and stayed on for as long as I had the car on (15 minutes or so) though the air isn't as cold as i would expect it to be.

Do you have any suggestions as to what else might be the problem?

Ford escapes, around 2010 I believe, have a part on the inside that breaks down clogging the pressure valve causing AC to stop working.

What is the parts number for that replaced recycle pressure switch? Thank you for this video. I have an ac that goes on and off. It will be cold then hot then cold and hot... I want to replace that switch and see if that fixes the issue.

What sensor was that he pointed at above the compressor?

I got a 2003 Ford Escape, the air conditioner weakens 80% when going up hill or accelerating too much. The mechanic checked and found nothing wrong. Could it be the condenser? He checked the freon level with the gages, but all was normal.

When changing the high pressure limit switch does refridgerant escape when you unscrew it?

I have a 2010 ford escape, I changed the condenser and when adding freon the truck wouldn't hold any freon after going through 2 cans. Mechanics are suggesting i change the Evaporator Core. I have not tried your method before do you think it will help with this issue? Thanks

What was the exact issue? Was the AC blowing hot air only? Cool air only? Or not turning on at all?

I have an 09' Escape Non Hybrid. The AC was working fine, then when we got back in the car, it was just blowing hot air.
I checked the Relays, fuses, Compressor Clutch is kicking on & off or just running constantly.
I'm assuming it's the high or low switch.
I have Carshield & they gonna pay for repairs but I'm just curious if it's that low pressure switch?
I hooked up a can of Freon w/ a gauge & it pegged out in the Red w/ AC On.
States, if in Red, Take to Service Technician Immediately!

did you just take a gamble and replace the switch or did you try bypassing it or testing for continuity?
