I have these two lenses for my Nikon D5600 too. If you can only afford one lens you really need to get the 18-140mm DX lens. Don’t forget that on DX cameras the crop factor is X 1.5, so that 18-140 FF equivalent is 27-210mm focal length. This would have to be the most useful lens ever made that you can do about 98% of your photography with. This 18-140 lens is the one normally on my camera as my general purpose, all seasons, any time, most of my photography, lens.

AF-P is the clear winner in terms of sharpness here. At 140mm same aperture, I have both these lenses, the 70-300 I have is the non VR version however it's tact sharp while the 18-140 is slightly softer. But 18-50 range is still quite good.

Perfect video .. I have an option to choose 18 55 and 70-300mm or 18-140 along with body.. I already own 55 200 vr2 and prime and would get rid of my old 18 55mm vr lens. Is it better to choose 18-140 instead of afp combo ?
