I didn't accept Ranni's quest... and she killed me - Elden Ring

Ranni gives you a questline, and I didn't know. My reaction was based on what I knew of Dark Souls 1 and thought the NPC might be upset if I refused her request, obviously this is not the case, unlike the covenant system in Dark Souls.

Unfortunately... she still ended up killing me.. sort of.
