Recently got into watching spoken word poetry through the wonderful recommendations of my friends & I seriously fell in love with the art as a whole.
Every person(students and teachers) I've ever met in high school legit are the reason I knew I had to write and perform this.
My goal is to make sure teachers are aware of the struggles that many students go through. May be harsh, but hopefully enlightening - here's my performance at Dundee-Crown High School's Variety Show...enjoy!
P.S. Short message for the "She-He-Me" bit
She - You not only know my past but have lived in it. I'm SO proud and honored to know someone who has gone through what you have. Giving up was never an option for us and it never will be.
He - If you ever watch this, I can't even begin to express enough how grateful I am to have known you and for all you've taught me. You are the epitome of STRONG and I'll always admire you for that.
Me - yeah girrrrl get it
