Wuthering Waves is in a dire situation. Limited time to fix problems. Genshin Endgame in less than two weeks. Honkai Star Rail endgame two weeks after that. Then ZZZ two weeks after that. Players will start bleeding permanently soon. Is Wuthering Waves already doomed?

I didn't understand why people were trying to compare a 3 year old game vs a game that just came out. They really shouldn't have hyped it up as a "Genshin killer" on day 1. Give wuwa some time then we can see.

Even tho they have some issues now due to rush, knowing KURO they will fix it because they listen, And as long as they listen to their players I'm not going anywhere.

Strange. I played the game all night and I had a really positive first impression.

Mind you, Im playing on a good gaming PC with no intention of even downloading it on mobile.
I have one friend who's having a Hell of a time trying to run it on their various devices.

That being said, the more combat focused gameplay definitely appeals to me far more than what Genshin provides. I havent experienced any bugs or jank, I dont think so Im not sure what that's about, either.

I'm in my 40s and it has been many years since a game like Genshin got my attention. It is the storyline based on Mythology and Phylosophy. Hope I get to the end of the game before I have grandkids! 😅😂

People gotta realise that Wuwa is still really new, Genshin has been under development for ages and has already fixed a lot of their problems. When Genshin first released, it was really bad, there wasn’t much to do, it was laggy and always crashed, the sound quality clipped in and out and there wasn’t many great characters. Wuwa is still improving by try to listen to its players, we had to beg hoyo for years even just for a simple thing like patting the dogs and cats only to get the feature on certain specific animals and that is just one example. When looking at Wuwa I see something promising because rather than ignoring its fanbase, it’s embracing it. It’s got more expressive characters in the main story quest, it’s open to more weapon choices, it’s easier to build the character, the wish banners don’t feel overwhelming, you can pat and feed the dogs and cats, combat is more fluent, you can collect the enemies like Pokémon and enslave their souls (echoes 😂); I just find the game more engaging. Sure it’s not polished but when genshin released it wasn’t that much either and I think people just need to give the game a bit more time to ferment and give some constructive criticism so they can improve but I think they will still be relevant in the late future, they’ve only been out for a day and in half a year, they’ll be a much different game who’s learned from its fanbase and overall criticism and become something that pulls from Genshin in terms of inspiration but still stands by itself as a strong competitor that could even help Genshin take some notes. Hoyo decided to bring out a new game more combat based just cuz they didn’t wanna improve their current games combat. We still can’t dodge in Genshin and probably never will but hoyo is already showing signs that they are also taking notes from their competitors, one thing I just hate is that Genshin improves very slowly because hoyo plays favouritism on its new games and neglects its fanbase opinions on how to make Genshin better which Wuwa is already one step ahead with

I think a lot of people don't realize that Mihoyo are literally vibing together with WuWa's teams. They even take pics of their cosplays.

Remember guys, Hoyo is weeb first, competition later.

Ngl, I'll keep plaing Genshin, but I will absolutely swan dive head first into WuWa. I played it for 8 hours yesterday, and I am absolutely in love with it.

Why can’t two good games just coexist there always has to be a “better” game but stuff like that is based on the overall opinion of well everyone but personally I think they are both good games and there should just be a balance why does one game have to lose its popularity? Why can’t we coexist?! Can someone please tell me the answer-

I have faith that Kuro games can get it right. the idea to go with unreal 4 for mobile was a choice. bad oversight, in my opinion, because playing the game on a Samsung Galaxy A32 is a nightmare. Even with the lowest settings on playing games, is a choppy and a laggy mess plus the overheating on the phone.

The real difference between Hoyo and Kuro is their approach to the market. Kuro for the hardcore gamer, and it's a double-edged sword. While hoyo is for the casual gacha gamer. I feel Hoyo has the correct formula. Kuro made too many risks while making wuwa that is backfiring on them

If Wuthering Waves failed then I have no more hope for the future of the gacha genre. It's a very dark era if every gacha games is all hoyoverse without much variety to choose from. It's like 1984 but for gacha industry

CBT2 Player here and also have already sunk 30 hours total into the 1.0 release now and there are a few things I'm disappointed that has not been fixed since CBT2.

1) Performance Issues: CBT2 was plagued with performance issues, like game stuttering, high GPU and RAM usage for no apparent reason, occasionally capping the GPU usage for certain areas. And its sad to say the same issues are still occurring for ver. 1.0 (Note: I have high end PC, I shouldn't be having these issues)

2) Jank Wall Run/Mantle: Many people including me have given several feedback to Kurogames regarding the janky movement from wall running and mantling and it's sad that ver. 1.0 is still experiencing this issue with zero changes since beta 2 (at least from what I've seen from the 30 hours I've put into 1.0 so far).

3) Lackluster story: I know they revamped the story after complaints from players back in CBT1 era but during CBT2 I feel the story is still and many players expressed the same sentiment during CBT2, and so far for ver. 1.0, it has not changed at all.
- I legit fell asleep for around 40 minutes while doing the Lingyang story quest and didn't realize until getting woken up by friends in a discord call.

4) Low Quality Voice Acting (CN DUB): This complaint is specifically for the CN dub, it was lackluster and riddled with awful sound quality during CBT2 and it's still the same in ver. 1.0, I mainly play in CN dub for all my gacha games and Wuwa has some of the worst quality I've seen to date. Honestly, EN might be better at this point...

5) High latency/ping: I know it ain't my network/ISP I tested it on several other games and networks. Wuwa has some god-awful servers I shouldn't be hitting 4k ping during a boss fight MULTIPLE TIMES.

6) Echo System: I'm pretty sure most of the CBT2 players can agree when I say the "echo grind" is equivalent to torture. As an avid gacha gamer and a "genshin refugee, " I understand the pain of "artifact/relic" farming, but holy shet Wuthering Waves is out here competing for the title of worst "artifact system."

Attention Genshin players you thought artifact farming was PAIN wait until you experience end-game echo farming in Wuwa. SMH

Let me explain:

Most relic/artifact systems have 2 layers of suffering: The RNG for Main Stat and the RNG for substat and a minor layer of suffering: artifact experience/fodder grind.

Well Wuthering waves has 5 MAJOR layers of suffering:

1) RNG for correct set
2) RNG for correct main stat
3) RNG for sub stat values (that are invisible)
4) Stamina is required to make sub stats not "invisible" through "TUNING system"
5) No off-piece for set effect

Now if this isn't torture I don't know what is. This is literally a kick to the balls for most F2Ps and casual players out there.
It makes the game EXTRA GRINDY:

Farmed the entire map for echoes, but none of them hit the RNG for your desired main stat? Rest in Peace they are useless now, you can't even use them as exp/fodder for other desirable Echoes.
Finally a good main stat with the correct set? Ok, now we need another resource: "Tuners" to "see" the substats. Turns out the substats were bad, unfortunate but it's fine we can fodder it to another echo. But wait a minute, if we do that then the Tuners we just used have now gone to waste... (Stamina is required to farm Tuners).

End Game: Finally got a shiny echo, wait a sec... it's not the highest tier, time to continue grinding I guess. Ooh found another Shiny Echo, oh but unfortunately it didn't drop an echo for me to absorb... Back to grinding I guess. Eventually, after several weeks of grinding you finally acquire a Shiny Echo at the highest tier with the desired main stat and set. Time to enter sub stat RNG hell.

You see, the sheer amount of RNG hell you have to go through with Wuthering Waves, dare I say it... Genshin's artifact hell is 100% better than this.

Withering Waves had JUST came out not even a week ago, of course its gonna have problems. This is Kuro’s first ever open world game and ofc theres gonna be some issues, but from my own experience so far as a 3 year genshin player the game is amazing. It does have its bugs even now after the maintenance thing but it is so much better. Comparing something like genshin thats had three years of improvement to something that came out just three days ago is outrageous

People seem to forget that Genshin had and has its own jank too. Can we give the game a few months before we pick up the pitch forks? I think everyone needs to stay in their lane and chill. If you like wuwa, great, if you don't, also great, but this is internet

Optimisation issues aside, I think there's one very important thing to consider: Wuthering Waves's relative "failure" to compete with Genshin from the get-go isn't necessarily a problem for the gacha industry as a whole.

Gacha games have inherently ALWAYS appealed to a niche audience. In fact, most gacha games STILL appeal to only a niche audience - Fate/Grand Order or Blue Archive, for example. They're not TRYING to compete with miHoYo in the first place.

Predictably, I'm sure there's an argument that miHoYo games will start siphoning money from existing gacha games or that what should be revenue for other games is going to miHoYo, but I just don't see that being the case. There are multiple old-timers that are still going strong, such as Fate/Grand Order and Arknights, which obviously aren't earning as much as they did on launch (which is natural) but also not little enough that they're even remotely close to calling end of service. Of course, they're also not earning as much as miHoYo, but again, they aren't really trying to compete in the first place.

It's admittedly not great for variety, since any time someone thinks "open-world gacha" they'll be led towards Genshin, and there will be more responsibility on content creators to branch out if they don't want to rely on just Genshin or Star Rail (not that the latter's a particularly streamable game), but outside of that, gacha as a whole is and will continue to thrive without issue.

After Genshin Fontaine Arc and Star Rail's Penacony Arc. Wuwa made me do 4 chapters of snoozefest with their story. I'm sorry. If you're not gonna come out with a bang you gotta hook me with something else.

The combat is meh to me since. It just reminds me of Honkai Impact 3rd's combat system. I'm sorry It's not Wuwa's fault that those hoyoverse games got through my heart first.
