That's a good life philosophy. It's no fun to be angry and mad all the time. You can't control how your day is going but you can control how you feel about it

“How you do anything is how you do everything” Is what I was told when I was growing up. It continues to be true today in work, relationships, and hobbies. It helps keep ourselves and the world in perspective.

Alot boils down to time.

Once you start slicing off dedicated time it's amazing how fast you run out of it. Trying to have meaningful time with family and different friend groups over the course of a week really shows how little you have.

Then that puts even more pressure on enjoying that time you have rationed out and hopefully said pressure doesn't have a negative effect.

This video hit harder than I expected 😮 I should really make more time for myself to enjoy my hobby and unwind. Life's too short and too stressful not to.

A big part of how I enjoy 40K is by myself, I love the solitude of focusing in and working on minis to make something special. I do it for my personal satisfaction, rather than doing it to show off and get other’s approval. Much of my life is the same, what I do I do for me, and not to appease others. It’s also something that I didn’t do for a long time in life, and has been a lesson I’ve had to learn, that is better to do things that make me happy, rather than trying to please others

I love a good story. I play 40k in what would offer the best thematic story to tell or imagine. Cause at the end of it all, Im tired, depressed, lonely, and one really bad moment from being a self-delete statistic.

So, all I want is as many good memories as possible to drown out the bad so I can at least complete my single player campaign a bit more Paragon than Renegade before the credits roll.

I started playing a year or so ago. I won my first ten or so games, and it got entrenched into my mind that I had to win. So that combined with my autism I really struggle when I lost the first time, and the half dozen or so times since. So I need to make the best army, making weird substitutions and making unfun choices, stressing for hours over the last 200pts of my casual list, because I can only enjoy it whilst winning, and because I try so hard to win, I don’t get used to loosing.

There’s a man in my club, he helps run it, and admittedly sucks and 40K. The games I have with him are my favourites as I can be chilled, and think about what would be cool. Plus we get on quite well anyway.

This is what I do with Magic: the Gathering colors and 40k armies, but in reverse. Try and figure out what armies or decks people would like based on their personality.

In life: feeling like I never seem to have enough money or time to ever get anything done.
In hobby: feeling like I never seem to have enough money or time to ever get anything done.
Yup, pretty spot on.

Fair point, I let all the changes to Deathwatch in both 40K and Kill Team make me upset and angry. But then I saw the opening of Space Marine 2 and it inspired me to make a modular Deathwatch team and do co-op with my friends making our own Space Marines and fighting Tyranids. I wanna have fun so I'll live like that too.

Study my codex the night before a game and the morning of. Come up with a half-baked plan to succeed. Abandon plan as soon as the game starts and just wing it. Win by a hair or lose spectacularly. Could also sum up my entire high school experience.

Correct! Its why I play Battletech! Jokes aside, this name was earned through decades of work. Everyone I introduce to tabletop (BT or 40k) doesn't need to buy an army to try it out. I've got enough models for both and if there was a model in their force that they fancy, they can keep it. As a gift and memento of a good time, not a "first one's free" sort of deal.

Thats a really good point. I never thought about it like that but looking back on past games and my attitude towards modern 40k in general, I can definitely see the parallels.

4:26 I feel more confident and comfortable building & playing 2000 points. It kinda feels like how I do 3 hours of research before a small but meaningful purchase.

I love my models and love playing with my friends. I think a lot of the changes made by gw were done in an earnest attempt to make good changes. I think if people took a step back and just looked at what they have, it would be more fun for them. Like, deathwatch just got so many new models. Blood angels got some great new sulpts.

It isn't perfect. But nothing is perfect

For me I like siting down with some one talking rolling dice getting some laughs in talking lore about the armies why they were fighting etc. Like I played one tournament as chaos knights where I brought 2 bug knights and 1 war hound titan and was yeah the meta is bring as many warhounds as you can right? Got good checkle and would start a fun discussion. Or this weekend in crusade team game (2v2 1k per person) and my Imperial Knights were teamed u with Nightlord vs GDC & Nids. I was like we got this vox call from this chapter about these xenos, so we came to help this poor chapter thier gear was like the oldest hand me downs, I mean they are a bit murdery but what chapter isn't?
