The Samsung Dex is definetly a start of a world where you can just drop any phone anywhere and just have all your stuff right there.

It is amazing that there are mini desktops PCs nearly the size of the DeX docking station. Samsung even has one.

Edit: To Clarify: I think it is awesome that the DeX exists, I just don't think it's going to replace a PC anytime soon. Not due to the lack of power (phone vs. pc) as a phone has enough power to handle most general consumers demand. I think it will not be revolutionizing as there is much utility to be had in two individual devices (both pc and phone), and I myself would not be Ok with losing the ability to use both a PC and a Phone at the same time for independent tasks..

What happens if you receive a phone call?

You have to either take the call on speakerphone or disconnect the phone from the dock? Therefore you can't be working at the computer or discussing something from your screen while using the phone in it's normal state?

Just curious what everyone thinks about these types of use cases, I don't envision this type of setup replacing personal computers anytime soon just due to the limiting factors of not operating off both devices at once.

I think is a good addition to the Samsung suite... you will have productivity at ur fingertips and the ability to connect via HDMI and USB will give u ebless connectivity abilities.

I have a couple of questions. First is it wireless or does it plug into the USB port at the bottom for this? If it is wireless can you use the dock as a wireless charger when it is closed?

I wonder if someone can answer this question: Will the Dex work on a notebook. Or has it been designed to work on a stand-alone screen. In other words, do I need another mouse, keyboard and screen to operate Dex? I will appreciate an answer from anyone that may know. Thanks in advance.

What happens if somebody calls me and I forget the phone is comnected to deck and I pull it to answer? Probably it will freeze 1) because it runs MS software, 2) it's made by Samsung.
