HTC HD2 vs iPhone 3GS: Internet Browsing

This is a comparison of the internet experience on the HD2 versus the iPhone 3GS

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but you said the HD2 browser doesn't support flash. The HD2 includes Internet explorer, which does support flash. Also flash support can be installed on Opera mobile.

FYI, I want it noted that when he typed "W" for "webmd" on the iphone the site was already in a list, which means it was visited on that phone before...

The point i'm trying to get at here, is that pages usually use "cookies" or such things to save information on pages so that they load faster when you return to them, much like what the iphone did.

I'm a PC guy, so I don't know if mac does the same... but seems a bit fishy to me.

I agree with the fact that Opera 9.7 is still beta but when it comes to the screen resolution I don't think that's a valid excuse to why the HD2 is slower because it's processor is 400mhz faster than the 3G's so it should have the power to do the job. I think that once Opera releases the final version it will be a lot smoother and faster.

Web browsing on the HD2 is the best on the market in my opinion. Big screen, easy browsing ability, quick connection. And yes I have used the 3GS so I am not totally biased. All you have to do is look at that screen...proud to have one in my pocket.

What about caching on your Iphone 3Gs? Seems like you've loaded all the pages before on the Iphone and none of them on the HD2.

I have to point out that the HD2 does not have an animation for screen for screen flipping, so the HD2 acctually won every time it was flipped. If you look closely. The iphone uses an animation to compensate for the slow flip

The HD2 is definetly more advanced, it have more things on it.

What he didn't mention, was that Opera doesn't support flash, but Internet Explorer (also comes with the HD2) does support flash :)

Does the iphone have a wifi router app that allows you to connet to your lap top or pc via the hd2 as a wifi router which I'm currently using to type this message on my laptop? Hey, just wondering.

2 important considerations:
1. Should test with cleared cache and not in wireless
2. the hd2 default zoom page in opera can be set, and should be alsto tested with the new opera mobile 10 beta 2

Hey, that was a good vid. Actually I would say I'm surprised the iPhone can keep up with that beastly thing. Good to know that it's been so long and the iPhone is still a top competitor in the browsing field, cuz that's what I personally bought it for. HD2 gets crazy respect though.

@biboKralle well i would be defiantly picking the pre but i have heard the build quality is bad and the battery is bad, these are such easy things Palm could have got right, im not sure if people are exaggerating or if these problems only came with the 1st few models to be released.
