I started with a Play bar and 2 Play 1's. Then I got hooked and put Sonos everywhere I could find room for it. Such high quality speakers. The ease of use is second to none.

I got the playbar with 2 play ones and a sub and watching movies it makes a HUGE difference for me. Now I'm hooked gonna put Sonos everywhere. The easy setup is amazing and I can control everything with my phone. I give Sonos a 9 out of 10. would of been 10 but it's a bit pricey. Thanks

I have had the Sonos system in my home for just about 2 years and love it. Yes it is pricey, but the sound is one of the best I have ever heard. I had a good Bose system before and made the jump into the Sonos family. Don't get me wrong, Bose make wonderful speakers but the Sonos system, wireless, had been around for a long time and are one of, if not, the best at wireless speakers that produce outstanding sound. You can either have a lot of Sonos speakers or a little and grow as you want or can afford too. I have the Playbar, Sub and 2 Play-I in my livingroom and the sound is crazy good. The bass to me is odd, you hear and feel it but is doesn't vibrate the items in the room as much as the Bose's did, I don't know how they achieved that but it makes for a much clearer experience. I also have a Play-5 in the kitchen and Master bedroom, a Play-3 in the Spare bedroom and one more Play-1 in my Bathroom. As you can see I went all in for a Sonos system and have been very happy with them. I did buy their Booster to ensure no dropouts and it works great. Again, the Sonos system is not cheap but when you look at the support, in the way of updates to ensure you get the best sound along with continuing software improvements, it is worth it over the long run.

Great review - thanks! Just one quick question - can you play music directly through the Apple Music app or do you need to use the Sonos app? I know I'd have to use the app originally to connect, but once connected, can I just play through the speakers directly from the Apple Music app so I don't need to use the Sonos app?

I got it as a gift for father's day yesterday. My main use for it is as a home theater for movies. Should I bother opening it or should I just return in and invest in a A/V receiver and a surround system ?

Comments on the video - lower volume music. The room looks very dark, a light in front would be better. Comments on the content, Sound is obviously subjective but I liked your comments about music. Do you think this would play any kind of music or is it tuned to a particular sound ?

For surround sound, adding additional sonos units apparently gives you 3.1 and 5.1 surround, have you tried that. I believe there is no support for DTS -only Dolby Digital which is bad news for Blu Ray watching.

Would you add additional units or look for alternative systems ?

Not sure what to do now. I was looking at this to pair with my Panasonic tv as it's standard sound is poorer than poor. You say in your review that it doesn't improve the TV sound but yet when played as a music system it is immense, this confused me a bit.
Secondly is there a way to connect a sub from another system or do you have to buy the wireless Sonos sub.

I'm waiting for them to release a new model of this. I hear a real mix bag when it comes to the 5.1 surround sound... apparently not a lot supports it.

get rid of that background music. don't have a sonos but i have a processor with an amp and 5 seperate speakers including a sub.
