How to regenerate DPF filter

If you get a warning light showing that the filter’s blocked, it should be possible to complete an active regeneration cycle and clear the warning light by driving for 10 minutes or so at speeds over 40mph.

just did something similar with a bmw 520d drove for about 40 mins like this and the deleted the dpf code with scanner, all the power is back now, very pleased.

my mechanic who has 40+ yrs experience & also owns a 2014 hyundai i40 advised me too rev the sh1t outta it (around 3k-4k) for a few miles every now & then too help keep the DPF clear. he's been lookin after my cars for over 10 yrs & i trust him 100%

I drove 100 km/h with 5th gear (DSG 7-speed) on a T6, that made 2500 rpm. It took aprox. 5 minutes until it was gone, maybe because the car warmed up a few minutes ago and I did harder accelerations since then. It showed up at 52k km (32k miles), because my mother mostly uses this car for short distances so it doesn't fully warm up in the winter. For some reason it showed up after fueling the car after a 100km (60 miles) drive.

Just ran down the freeway at 50kmph in 1st just to be safe for about 5 minutes. I know you said 10 minutes, but the engine shut off after 5. I think it worked..!

I drive a diesel golf 7 gtd 2016. Never shift under 2000rpm, and sometimes i just do 100 miles an hour in 4th gear for abouy 5-10 minutes. Diesel are made to floor it, these new engines want high rpms. I always drove my cars hard once warmed up off course

it's a mistake to think that driving in a high gear at lower revs saves fuel...I proved this as a minicab driver, driving a Sharan with an onboard computer..it's also better for the engine as a whole, especially the DPF!!!

Best advice buy a 2L petrol toyota avensis and get it gas converted you will be amazed with the money it saves and it will probably do half a million miles

Does it help if I race the car on higher RPMs(floor it on a highway) instead of driving eco? Can it fix the problem or even just be a prevention to the problem?

I had dpf light on and I tried 4 liters petrol mix in my diesel then i drove in 3rd gear 60 mph and 4rth gear 70, 80 mph.after all this car was very smooth but still had light no and nt fully right.the went to mechanic he checked and we decide to change dpf pressure sensor first then we see.i got it and changed it.after he reset da light and fully fine.went on motor way fully fine.

Getting a Ram eco-diesel up to 2500 rpm means driving over 100 mph. I suppose you ought to mention driving it in a low gear or the 2500 rpm regen cycle is gonna cost some real bucks - in traffic court!
