I have two of the Klark Technic CT-1. One is so noisy it's completely unusable, the other introduces enough hiss that I still get cleaner gain by maxing out the gain on my Behringer Flow 8 mixer. Would not recommend

I'll vouch for the RetroTINK 2X. I have the classic, that one where you had to build the acrylic case, and it's so good. I wished it had 480p passthrough, but it's still great.

I had the Klark Teknik CT1 and found it very good for the $30 it cost me. Didn't end up needing it though and sold it to a friend to use with his SM7B and he says it sounds perfect and he loves it. Hadn't seen too many people talk about it, cool to see it here :)

My yahmaha AV receiver will upscale content and has composite and component inputs through an HDMI output.

I’ve recently been using it to play Pokémon on the TV through Pokémon stadium on N64 and I’m happy with how it looks.


I wonder how this compares to the retro link you mention. Used AV receivers can be had pretty cheap and easy on FB marketplace and offer a lot more versatility.

A used AV receiver could be the real bargain

I'm a bit surprised more people don't talk about the Audio Tecnica AT2020, I've been really happy with it especially for the price.

I already have a pre-amp that does fine, but I have to keep it dialed down to avoid clipping - which leaves me with a quiet signal. Does a mic activator help with that? I'm guessing it would just clip?

I use the Klark Teknik CM-1 which is the Cloudlifter equivalent. The CL-1 is the inline equivalent similar to the sE DM1 Dynamite.

Can't wait for camera recommendations. I've been using a rebel t6 for a hand am but it turns off automatically so I have the reset it between games and am not ready to drop the money for another a5100.

I have wondered. What is your audio setup? What do you use for a microphone? And, the most important question of all. What post processing do you do to your audio. Your audio sounds great, and no matter what I do my voice never sounds close to the quality I here from you and other youtubers. I have a GO xlr and Røde NT1

You use the PC38X? Does yours creak and crack when you are wearing it? I wish it had better build quality. Why not use one of your dedicated microphones for gaming as well?

I will buy the first capture card that bypasses High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection.(HDCP) This is a HUGE problem for anyone trying to capture iPad pro with a capture card. i tried bypassing the protection with a HDMI splitter but it only helps a tiny bit.
