Increasing the fan speed is a good idea to prolong your PS3's life, but it won't improve FPS. A GPU overclock and/or internal SSD will though. That plugin size change is a placebo only, does nothing.

Never set your fan to manual.. that's how you cook it. Changing the temperature within a reasonable bracket isn't going to affect fps at all, and no the best one is not "MAX" because it uses the most RAM. The best one is minimum.

Over clocking the Video Ram always helps to increase the fps in games, specially on GTA V. GTA V runs like shit on the PS3, the worst way to play that game. The consoles do it dynamically without sacrificing the temperature but when you overclock it, you are doing manually instead of letting the console manage the Ram and the Video Ram automatically. The reason why the Nintendo Switch has terrible performance on latest releases like Pokémon Scarlet y Violet, Zelda, Bayoneta 3 etc. The reason why people like to overclock the Switch.

If you want to overclock your PS3 do it in a super slim unless you want to kill your fat or an early revision PS3 slim. The fat PS3 can barely handle PS3 games without cooking itself out. LMAO
