Programming the Atmel ATtiny85 chip with the Arduino IDE. I demonstrate two methods to do this. In the first case I use a Sparkfun Tiny Programmer, and in the second case I use an Arduino Uno to program the chip.

Well done!  Some comments below are unwarranted, and mean spirited!  Thanks for taking the time, and adding all the steps.  Leaving out just one detail can cost a lot of time to figure out.  Got the 2nd method to work perfectly the first time.  Not so with the Sparkfun, but did not spend a lot of time on it.  Already had made a shield with a ZIF socket, so the 2nd method was better anyway.

So, I don't need the Arduino if I have the programmer?

Great info, but efficiency is needed. That is, verbalizing all the wiring interconnections is okay but without an accompanying drawing “sketch” places a burden on watchers to either take notes and rewinding the video multiple times. And, with a sketch, you can better use the time to voice other more useful info or perhaps shorten the video. I subscribe to your fine channel and this suggestion could be applied to quite a few of your videos (for future reference). Thank you very much. I enjoy your channel. —- just a friendly suggestion.

not a good instructional video. rather scatterbrained. you go on and on about some moronic sketch, when the video is about programming with the arduino board or the sparkfun board. when you have beat the sketch to death, then you get to the sparkfun board. but you blow right by the details about how to set it up. you show a screen that is difficult to read and then say that you've already got it downloaded and move on. some help.
