Fun fact: Cliff came up with the title when the band watched _The Ten Commandments, _ starring Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner, and Anne Baxter, among others. Seeing the tenth plague represented as fog rolling through the palace in the film, Cliff remarked: "Whoa, it's like creeping death" out of nowhere. James, Kirk & Lars liked the sound of that phrase and decided to use it as the song's title. The opening line of the chorus, *"So let it be written, so let it be done, "* is also used in the film.

In my humble opinion, this is Metallica's Magnum Opus, based on the rhythm of the song, the lyrical presentation and the Punctuation between it's lyrics and Instruments

Every section of the song feels deliberate and never lasts more than it needs to, just pick up an instrument and a tab and practice and you'll feel the intent behind the songs flow

3:10 it's so ghostly, and 3:40 is so... I don't have a word to describe it, but it's like if you stop in time, your soul leave your body and return, like the guitar in this part. This song is amazing in every angle.

The first five Sabbath albums, the first five Slayer albums, the first four Metallica testament of them and you have Heavy Metal.

*One* thing I love about Metallica, is that no album sounds the same, they each have their own sound. Master of Puppets doesn't sound like the Black Album, And Justice For All...doesn't sound like Ride the Lightning but just to my ears I can hear traces of that thrashy Kill 'Em All tone here in Creeping Death.
