Getting a million Russians to scream die has to be one of the most badass feelings on this earth

So let it be written that Jason Newsted played his heart and soul out in every performance.

Jason Newsted dropping that mother fucking die is epic.

I am embarrassed to admit I’m 54 and I basically just discovered Metallica. I had heard a few songs on the radio over the years but my god this band is awesome. Been binge listening for 2 months now. Gotta make up for lost time.

I love seeing Kirk here. A million people screaming and cheering at him while playing a riff he wrote when he was 16, while jumping around and being Happy to be alive.

Nobody brought energy to Creeping Death like Jason did.

Legend says People still leaving the concert

Everything was perfect about this era of Metallica. Lars could actually play drums, Kirk was young and full of energy, Jason was bringing atmosphere to the band, and James was pure rage.

James voice was never better than this day. So brutal, but perfectly in key.

This is definitely the best live Creeping Death performance

I'm more of a Cliff fan, but Jason's intensity is unbeatable

Cliff would be proud of the energy and passion Jason brought to Metallica

James: "Repeat with me! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!!!"
And the russian crowd: "DA! DA! DA! DA!!!"

Can you imagine how Kirk felt while performing this.I don't think he ever imagined he would perform this simple riff he wrote when he was 16 in front of half a million russians screaming DIE and making history...Damn...

Recorded in 1991 yet sounds better than 90% of metal concert recordings today.

Jason is the reason this "die" chant is so memorable. His lines and bass riffs were subtle but the key to the whole thing.

You know a band is bad ass when a country hast to use military as security

Look at Jason's face as he approaches the mic. He's all like I'm bout to straight laydown some vicious vocals. I get chills everytime.

Let it be written that Metallica 1989-1992 will never be equaled. Pure power and rawness!!
